No more multiple RTTS careers?
-
I haven't had too much opportunity to explore RTTS for 21, but it seems like you can only have one career player with a variety of loadouts, is that correct? With previous editions, I liked to have a career for each position 1 to 9, which let me experience the entire range of the game with multiple teams. I'd create RP & CP characters as well, so I'd have 11 save files and just have fun switching back and forth and enjoying the variety.. Now it seems I'm limited to just the one "player" whose dynamics I can vary somewhat through loadouts. I created one player, played a few games, and went back to "My Ballplayer" to try and make a new player, but apparently all I did was create a new loadout which took up from where my previous player left off, just with a new name, look, and attributes.
If this is the case, I absolutely hate it. I understand the way I play the game may be atypical, but RTTS is basically the only mode I play and I feel like the depth and variety has been nuked. I have no interest in importing my character into DD, a mode I never play, or any other mode, as I was already getting the "full" baseball experience from previous versions of RTTS.
If developers were looking to improve RTTS, tearing it completely down to force integration with other modes seems woefully ill-advised. There are any number of other ways they could have deepened RTTS, from increasing options/consequences for character roles like Lightning Rod or Maverick, improving and deepening commentator dialog and player interactions with teammates, rivals and media, or having more historical/statistical references during broadcasts (baseball is all about the stats and history, after all). Obviously, those are all things that would have appealed to me. And, I'm sure the changes that were made in RTTS will and do appeal to some.
I am not among that number, and am very disappointed.

you can create more save files. in the main menu when you hover over RTTS you can hit Square or X on xbox and create a new save file. just have to change your loadouts.
-
You can have multiple careers and saves, but they all use the same Ballplayer so they will all look exactly the same and I assume that everything you have earned with the first save will be accessible in the new save. But it would allow you to have a two saves advancing down two separate archetype paths (when they fix them). You would just need to make sure the correct loadout was active when you switched between saves.

No you can't you are forced to use the 1 ballplayers appearance so you would have to edit your players look from the main menu every time you wanted to switch RTTS.

We don't want the mode to be connected to DD. People in DD will never use the " Ballplayer " anyway. We can only make one player which can get stale very fast. The loadouts aren't very fun just let us progress our player as we play. What is so bad about gaining attributes by playing RTTS? Forced to be online to play is also a baffling decision so when the servers go off in 2 years the mode will be completely unplayable if you go to revisit the game or keep playing it. Also can't play when your servers go out or when our internet goes out. The progression system isn't very good when it works which it doesn't most of the time unfortunately. You are forced to play DD to progress your player currently because that is the only way the " programs " will track missions and stats. Also every time you go into loadouts it glitches out your gear and you have to switch everything back. Like it will give you just one batting glove put the foot guard back on forced sunglasses on always instead of when just fielding and much more including swing types when you have a built stance it can be very frustrating to have to fix it just because you went to the loadout screen to check " programs " progress. So please SDS just make RTTS like you used to for next years game. We want to be able to make multiple characters, not be connected to DD, and just gain attributes from playing not this " perk/architype " system.

the post was complaining that you couldnt have different saves for different positions. i provided the solution. as for the different appearances, yea thats gone unfortunately

Testing this right now, It seems when you delete the game and re-download it, it lets you choose your locally created ballplayer and the "Joe Random" ballplayer that the game already has made. I created a new character and saved it now I'm re downloading the game to see if it lets me choose the new ballplayer I just made.

@SteveInSEA13_XBL I agree with you 100%. They are imitating the NBA 2k pay-to-play model, where you make one "My Player" and then purchase attribute points so you can play an offline career mode or play online. It's a terrible concept. It completely takes the fun out of creating multiple "save files" as the other commenters noted. We shouldn't be locked into one appearance. What if I want my 2-way player to be Japanese, my 1B to be Dominican, my SS to be white? Nope. Can't do it. Terrible game model and shows the lack of effort of the development team.

My question To Tony the developer is once they fix the RTTS stuff will we have to create a new player?
-
To sum it up... They broke it... RTTS is now kind of ruined and limited to "1 Ballplayer" that can be used on multiple saves... Gone are the multiple players/personnas/personnality/types of players...
Worst thing is they broke it on purpose...
- DD is a money maker (people are buying Stubs)
- RTTS is not (progression is made while playing it)
- They Broke RTTS by linking it to their MoneyMaker... Sounds good to link them but it doesn't work. Realism is gone... Once you built your player once if you start a new career, you're a beast on a AA Team and you crush everything... Overpowering player with huge overall gap, that's the DD philosophy.

Let me reread my post that you responded to....

Okay so you can't have more than 1 active career at a time "unless you want the same face" . Be straight to the point. The entire mode is butchered compared to previous versions. Hopefully enough people complain and give feedback so we can get this integration with DD outta here and make it back to offline so we don't have to worry about the servers constantly crashing.
-
Have ever said it was not butchered? It has been going downhill for years.
-
Really pissed that different players cannot be created in RTTS. Nor am I able to have any previous players from the show 20 uploaded onto the show 21 which I see now is due to having 1 player. This is really disappointing and I hope it will get fixed.
-
It seems so simple to me. In diamond dynasty, they have online and offline modes. Why not have that with rtts? One mode is the intermode version that currently exist. The other mode is offline or single player version that follows last years model. Then... Everyone is happy. The current model is absolute trash. I just started a new player and threw a perfect game. Which is also one of the biggest missed reward this game offers. I throw a perfect game and get nothing for it? Sometimes this game feels like it is made by developers that have never played baseball at all. Anyway, I am not a developer so maybe my rtts fix would be too much to implement, but if done right, it would fix everything that is wrong with rtts now. At least, get it on par to what it was last year. All the great suggestions people gave on how to make it better, they literally did the opposite. Like... It was too literal, it must've been done intentionally.
-
So does this mean that if your last player had 120 contract and 115 power with 85 speed, etc when you make a new player that all their attributes transfer over or are they all back to 58 overall with loweverything.
-
PMSL, I just started a new RTTS career and my new player started as a 69 rated third baseman with all the scores that my old deleted RTTS save player had...so it appears that your player in RTTS retains everything he gets no matter the save....and we can't start fresh with a new player who stinks.
