Yep, you should see a countdown timer after its downloaded.
-
Oh yes, thanks, now I see the countdown, it's 6d 10h... thanks for help, I was scared, cause I have free day from my job for the 16th

what's the size of the PS5 version gents ?
Saw a screenshot showing a 59 gig download.
Not sure the space it will take once expanded and installed.
thank you mate - the ps5 is pretty decent with space that doesn't sound like a ton

My PS5 started pre-downloading both the ps5 and ps4 versions of the game, do I need both or can I delete the ps4 version?
It is also showing the ps5 version as standard edition even though I bought digital deluxe
Sony needs to work on this there is no reason that both versions should preload on the same console.
I need to wait and see the DD stream before I will even pre-order.
Do you own a PS5 and play with PS4 friends? Sony doesn’t worry which game is cross platform and which users are going to use which version if they have PS4 friends. It loads both so you don’t have to worry. It’s quite convenient. When I play with friends in some games it’s cross platform, some games aren’t and the PS4 version is needed. When I don’t play with them I don’t lower my console to the PS4 version for no reason I pay the PS5 version. No a big deal, certainly not worth not buying a product over.

Tatis is Cover boy that is why it shows up, Only time you need to worry about ps4 version is when you get the hard copy version b/c it needs the disc to play on ps5. How many gigs did it download of each version? Ps5 will be bigger than ps4 due to stadium creator.
I would guess both download so you can't use ps4 version on another account and double dip pre-Order bonuses.
I have Digital Deluxe ps4 only i think it was like 44 gigs. Past years it has been like 60 gigs, so seems like that could be indication of a more optimized game.
Nope; remember: you’ll have to play an exhibition of Rays vs Dodgers as the rest of the game downloads and installs...
Just FYI if your serious there is almost always TWO different downloads now for games. The first download is about 20-30% of the full size and you’ll get an “MLB the show is ready to play” prompt. This allows you to play an exhibition game while the other 70% loads. Playing that will slow down the other part of the download so you want to wait for it to say “MLB the show is installed” to get playing the full game as fast as possible.
You can go to downloads in the PS menu and see it visually as well.

That is kind of irrelevant. The vast majority of people will not want they game installed twice on the same console. It should default to the version of whatever console it is downloading to and then if the player wants to have both then they can manually kick off the other install.
As a PS5 only owner I don't need Sony wasting my bandwidth and using up a chunk of my data cap installing both versions.

How can you tell which version is ps5?
If you have it downloaded on your home screen hit the options button when on the icon for the game and go down to game version. There will be a check mark next to the version for that icon.

The fact that Sony can't figure out how to make the correct version download in 2021 is a little embarrassing. Clearly Microsoft had enough foresight with Smart Delivery. Did Sony just not think this would be an issue? Do they not know how to make it work, or was there just not enough time before launch with people working from home?
I guess it could be worse. Sony may overlook some things and make boneheaded tone deaf decisions at times, but at least they're not eating paste in the corner like Nintendo.

Ya know, I may not care for Nintendo games (although I do like the last two Donkey Kong games), but they're hardly sitting in a corner. Rather, what they're doing is making some serious bank. The switch has already sold 85 mil in just four years, making it already the 8th best seller (better than anything Microsoft has put out) and they're not done. I believe when it is (and here comes the switch pro), they'll be third behind only the ps2 and ds family. You may not like their games, I generally don't, but there is no denying their success.

I (unlike you apparently) do like Nintendo games. I also own every Nintendo console and handheld except for the Virtual Boy. That doesn't mean I'm blind. Their online infrastructure is a joke. They can't even figure out standard features like in game voice chat from the 360 era. Want to talk in Splatoon 2? Here's an unnecessary phone app. The fact that they are charging for online is a PS3 era Sony level of arrogance.
The Switch may be a success and there have been a few great games like Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild, but there are also a lot of lazy ports from the Wii U generation (since only I and about 10 other people actually bought one) and half assed remasters like 3D Mario All-Stars. They also decided to end production and remove that game from their eShop for the sake of artificial scarcity.
Trust me. They may be making money, but they're paste eaters.

I actually bought a wii-u back when I still cared about Zelda and Mario, but I'm just not into those games anymore. My 15 year loves Nintendo and is a major Zelda nut, but I've been revisiting Demon's Souls for the last couple of weeks. Nintendo doesn't do it for me anymore, but I knew when I bought my son the switch, it was going to be huge. Combining a handheld with a console was pure brilliance.
