This is huge! Pretty clear xbox has big plans for game pass that the first time a real MLB game launches for xbox one / X/S consoles it's included in the service

How Microsoft pulled this off is otherworldly. Amazing news for Xbox game pass subscribers for sure. I'm still buying the digital deluxe because I have to think it won't be on there but so long, just enough time to suck people into how awesome the game is.

I mean if that's the case they always discount the game to purchase and keep so even if it last 1 month you can pick it up cheaper after the fact

That was pre next gen philosophy. I wouldn't expect next gen version going on sale. They have been pretty adamant that next gen games will be 70 bucks.
I could be wrong, but if you have a chance to pre-order to get all the packs n stuff and it doesn't put you in financial bind i say do it. If early access is important to you.
But if you are on the fence about the gameplay and what to expect and you can get it free then that is a logical reason as well. And if you like it and still decide to get it i'm pretty sure progress will have saved for a nice transit.

Having bought the Deluxe version every years it's been available that's isn't an issue however every game that come to game pass can be purchased to keep with a 10% discount even the new outsiders game has this option so safe to assume MLB will get the same treatment.
For me I am switch to xbox this year as I bought a Series S so the idea of starting fresh with no extra packs I might try and go fully no money spent however I do want to support SDS so may drop money on studs for lunch day

Ok well game pass sounds cool and if that's an option right on. I thought the extra packs and stuff was for only if you pre ordered i guess i didn't know you could get packs after launch. Cool.

Correct but let's break it down if you purchase 3 new games in the year @60.00 each that is 180.00 so if you play at 3 least 3 games in full from game pass everything after that is free.

Correct but let's break it down if you purchase 3 new games in the year @60.00 each that is 180.00 so if you play at 3 least 3 games in full from game pass everything after that is free.
Buy the ea play 12 month cards for $30 (or less) and they convert to 4 months of GPU if you already have a membership.
$15 a month is for those who choose to put no effort into saving money for whatever reason.

I bought two years of Xbox Live Gold for $100 back in November ($50 each, which you could actually still get right now on Newegg) and upgraded to Game Pass Ultimate for $1. I wish I had bought three years. I made my money back within the first month or two.

Xbox guy here...Whether you get game pass or not depends on you as a player. I do not subscribe because all I play is the same couple games all year. My brother in law however does subscribe because he is into trying to platinum as many games as he can & goes through games like a fat kid goes through cake. It’s all in how many games you play.

This is a great move from Xbox. I have the ps5 and Xbox series x. I may have to subscribe to the game pass.

I would switch to XBOX just to see if it keeps me from dropping my PCI.
Loyalty and the new Gran Turismo keeps me from jumping ship, but this is huge for XBOX'ers. -
I could really see this only being on there for a month. It's not like a single player game someone can "beat" in a weekend. The length a game is on Gamepass is never announced but there have been plenty that have only been on there for a month and this would be a perfect candidate so that people get sucked in.

I don't know if "sucked in" is a good term in this case. The game is worth every penny whether it's free or $100. Now if it was Madden? Yeah sucked in perfect description.
