Personally, I'd wait for the first couple patches before thanking any deities for assumptions.
Agreed, but if we go off the beta(btw showed they fixed it) then I’ll be happy with it. Then again it is SDS and we might get double crossed.
-
They will do like they always do and watch the metrics. If strikeouts are too high for the average player, they will change stuff. People need to keep in mind that SDs is a business and will do what is necessary to keep the majority of their customers happy.
If you really want a purely skill based competition, go play actual baseball. this is a video game and a consumer product first, a competitive game second.

What makes me slightly suspicious is if they knew they could fix it— and admittedly made it “more generous” as the season went on— meaning they could tune it— why didn’t they tune it down to stop it from happening in 20?
This is my only suspicion

Sure, they could tailor the game to fit the 5-10% of players that think this game is more important than their wife sitting in the other room watching her life slowly slip away, questioning her life decisions.
But, those of us with money, focus on other things. Thus, the game will tailor to the majority.
Sorry basement dwellers

A lot of the dudes that look at mechanics that are broken in the game that need to be fixed that are way better then most people in the game — play like 100 or few more total games and never lose.
And the rest of us that agree. Just want to see a game that is fair and consistent.
Understanding business is understanding that your core support and fan base is much more important then expanding to more people — it’s called niche market business —because what makes your core happy is what is making you popular in the first place.
Mlb the show is in fact a niche market product.
If people strike out. Then they should stop swinging.

That is [censored] hilarious. Projection at its finest.

Check swings in the game do not bother me, but the animation does. Sometimes it seems like my pitch is going to be a strike before the animation kicks in. I think that the speed differentials, crazy pitch movement, and internet connections speeds by players in game forces check swings to be important.

Niceeee, I already have the controller. Hoping to win the lottery to buy the diamonds

People who don’t want check swings do not possess the skill to check swing. Isn’t check swinging user input? Thought that’s what you guys wanted. Or just the input you are good at? This is just another way people want the game in their favor.
-
I lost because of check swings! Get rid of it! LoL. Did you know you can check swing too and that check swings are part of baseball?

They did say check swings would be solely user input based in 21 and not go by discipline rating at all. With that said, they always adjust this type of stuff after launch. As far as it being user input, you're totally right and anyone can check swing. IRL though, you aren't going to check swing at multiple pitches in an at bat without getting called on it by the umpire at home without an appeal, much less the first base ump.

Really? Covid didn't have you locked up for a year?
1700!!!!!!! I'm not even close to that. I was locked up for just over 500. do some math. 1700÷365= 4.6 games per day. 45 minutes a game roughly
. that's almost 3.5 hours per day on the game. if you take a day off that's 7 hours the next day. I dont care what disease is floating around 1700 is for basement dwellers.
