I don’t understand how they could allow directional or analog in competitive play. I think it should be mandatory to use zone or pure analog with stride.
Save the timing interfaces for offline play and casual.
That would obviously make the most sense
Directional is extremely easy to exploit, from a pitching aspect that is. Idk that I've ever lost to one, or if I even face any at the higher divisions.

I don’t ever make ws, but I get in the 800s regularly using directional hitting, classic pitching and throw meter off for fielding.

Nope. Played less than a 100 ranked games last year.

My win/loss ratio is roughly 2-1. It might of been slightly lower than that this year, can’t remember.

There’s a big difference between making 800 regularly and making 800 once..

Well I have certainly made it more than once. I’m not sure how many times every year I have made it, but it’s been more than once. I don’t know how to check either. I have never got past 830 I believe though, that’s highest I think I have ever been.

Not quite what I’m saying. If you look up natural motion. That’s what I would like to see.
Since it’s like the 15th time you’ve mentioned this i gotta say I feel like you never played this game if you think that’s how MLB should be designed. Its very much a niche game with extremely unrealistic hits. It’s literally called BACK BREAKER. It wasn’t in any way a sim. It’s a 10+ year old upgraded version of NFL blitz with an opening scene where a QBs fingers are ripped apart from his hand in the championship game.
Maybe that’s not who has the script for the most realistic MLB the show.
Dig a little deeper my friend. The engine (euphoria) was created by a couple of college dropouts and they made that game back breaker as basically a prototype to show off the physics capabilities of the engine they created. Then other games started using it before recently they stopped allowing 3rd party companies to use it. You may have heard of one of them, grand theft auto? The back breaker game was not about making a sim football game, just showing off tech. By the way, I have been playing this game before it was called the show.
Lol that all sounds really good when written, but then when you come to the realization that GTA isn’t realistic, doesn’t have amazing or even average physics, and the greatness of the game has nothing to do with the fact those guys dropped out....it’s all just becomes words that don’t mean much. Like the amount of name changes this game has gone through while you’ve played. Sounds cool, means nothing.

Your right gta is not realistic, but some of the things they applied to the game from the engine are. Such as how a body rolled over the car when getting hit. I don’t mind that you disagree with me on how this game should be. You like more of an arcade game (more user input) and I like a more realistic game (more about the players we are controlling). We can agree to disagree.

How is more user input “arcade”??

Your not accurately representing the player you are controlling. You are able to achieve feats that he has never come close to accomplishing in real life. Hence arcade, not realistic.

Agree to disagree. Bartolo freaking Colon hit a HR in a real game. What are his stats in MLB The Show? So if Bartolo can do it, I think we should be able to hit dingers in the game with anyone.

I'll give you credit for persistence on this subject. The only way to do what you say is to take away even more control from the person on the stick.
"You're batting .400 with Kolten Wong. We are going to make you hit into some outs no matter how well you square up and well time a pitch. Kolten Wong is not a .400 hitter so we have to reign you in until you are batting .285, which is Koten Wongs best season AVG ."
You think people go crazy about the RNG in this game imagine how crazy they would go if the game purposefully took hits away so a player could not go above some arbitrary limit.

What you want is to be able to compete by evening the playing field because you don’t feel comfortable being able to learn zone. Which is clearly a more dominant interface
Of course a directional hitter wants outcomes for everyone to be random. Why wouldn’t you?
Basically you are saying “I play this way and this is the Max of achievable outcome therefore...no one should be able to achieve anything greater then what the game allows me to achieve”
Based on our conversation on mouse and keyboard I know exactly what your core intentions are dude.
Let’s make the game completely catered to your level of gameplay so that you can compete at a high level. Smh. Ridiculous
I 100% can take a very confident guess at where you stand politically lol
I’m very glad you don’t work for SDS

That’s not how I’m saying it should be done. Every player has data on him in every part of the zone vs different pitch types and velocities. All the realism crowd is trying to say is we would like this accurately represented. If I have good at bats with said player, I should put up similar stat lines. Same goes with all aspects of the game, pitching, fielding, etc. We don’t like the fact that you can put up .400 batting averages with any player in the game just because your good at moving pci. The game is currently not setup to be realistic. We think the players should matter more than user input. It’s up to the user to play to the full capabilities of said player. This is our side of the story. You guys have yours, we have ours.

Once again you continue to put words in my mouth. Why do you continue to make childish statements to try and make an argument where there is none? You have your feelings about how the game should play and I have mine. You get emotional when someone has a different view than you.

And what if you take better at bats in the game than the player does in real life? Maybe you work counts better, are fooled by pitches less often, have a legend batting behind you so you get better pitches to swing at.
Theoretically every batter should be batting significantly worse than they did in real life because in the game they are facing elite starters and relievers every game.

The first part of the question- That’s where the user is responsible for living up to said players abilities. I get what you are saying about you not chasing pitches, but the player you are controlling does in real life. That is what would separate user from user.
The second part- you forget that these elite arms are going against all elite batters in the specific scenario you present. Those two things compete against each other as well as the users decision making on what to swing at, as well as what pitch to throw in what location.
I completely understand if you do like this. I respect your view of how the game should be, I just don’t like the fact that every time someone from our side of the fence expresses our views we are shown disrespect.
