I went back to playing 19 to use some cards that I missed. Ichiro, Bautista, the good swing pujols, etc and 19 seems to play much better than 20 now that I compare them back to back. Pitching is much better in 19. I’m not hanging many pitches at all. Timing windows seem tighter in 19 as well. Seems like user input matters a lot more in 19 than 20. Get rid of the lineouts and it is a just a really good game. The scary thing is a remember last year just before 20 came out going back to 17 and thinking how much better 17 was than 19. Get rid of the late hits and 17 would be great. I really hope I don’t go back to 20 and say it is better than 21 next year. There was a lot of good in 20 but ultimately it felt like user input mattered a lot less than in previous years.

I think user input mattered more in 20 for hitting, but less for pitching, so sort of a wash for me.

Only played a few games on 19 today but there definitely seemed to be fewer garbage hits. Line-outs are rough but I expected that.

I ranked 19 higher as an overall enjoyment, but earlier in its life span, like around May-October(I think that’s when it became free) it was a lineout fest. I remember facing Nolan Ryan and squaring him all game for 87 mph lineouts. Later in the games lifecycle I felt it played better prolly cause they removed HR/9

I enjoyed 19 because hitters of all types were usable. You could use contact hitters and hit bombs. Sure there was a lot of line outs and whatnot but at least it wasn't nothing but long ball city

It is better I just said this the other day I went back to play myself and people were disagreeing with me.

19 had lineouts but I felt like I could win

But I do feel confident about doing well in 21 ... and I do feel like 21 is better then both 19 and 20 as it stands so there is a good positive vibe for what’s to come.

I’m just never confident with a lead in 20 I’m never confident in my pitch location. I’m never confident in my input reward. I just never feel like I’m guaranteed to beat anyone no matter what level they play on.

And you 100% correct about the timing window. 20 has a very awkward timing window.
