That is not how baseball works. If you have played/watched enough baseball, you would know that there are times where a team can outhit the other team and lose. Your team’s line drives are getting caught while the other team’s grounders and bloopers are finding holes. I might get less pp’s in a game than who I’m playing but if I get most of them in one inning and get a rally while your pp’s are spread out I might get that win and there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s baseball.
This isn’t baseball it’s a video game. You aren’t in war in COD. Sometimes in war you don’t expect to die but you do. But the person with the better inputs should win. THE BETTER INPUTS IN A VIDEO GAME DESERVE A VICTORY. It’s a VIDEO GAME!!! You aren’t a baseball player
You want to compromise the integrity of the competitive game to feel like you are in a baseball sim...if you want that PLAY OFFLINE.

Wow you're a very angry individual. Take a few deep breaths sir. Yes it is a video game but it is a video game based off of baseball buddy. If you want something that guarantees wins based off better input every time then don't touch anything that has to do with baseball. That is how baseball works which means that is how this game should work. Yes, more times than not the player with more good inputs SHOULD win but it shouldn't be like that every time or this wouldn't be a true baseball game. Like I said though, if you're not into that, then you shouldn't play this game or anything that has to do with baseball for that matter.
I don’t want a guaranteed win and I’m not angry. It’s a video game. It should play like a video game. Not a simulation of a baseball game. They have offline, casual and non-competitive modes for that.
What people want...is to KEEP UP when they shouldnt. It’s the same ppl that cried to ban dirt balling years ago because they didn’t have the skill or the patience to track the ball.
You know I’m right. Everyone knows I’m right.
you can’t have a competitive baseball game if you implement randomness. Because what happens...and we’ve witnessed this first hand is....the person making better inputs can lose and that should never ever ever ever happen in a video game it’s a VIDEO GAME for chrissakes!!!! Lol...that is literally the definition of what a video game is.
Haha I definitely don't know you're right because I don't believe you're right. I actually think you're wrong. So how would your amazing idea work? Every perfect-perfect is a guaranteed hit and there is no such thing as a blooper or a grounder that finds a hole? What is this correct way that you believe the game should be?

Implementing the anti-gravity ball if you throw the same pitch three times in a row was the single worst move SDS has made to this series. The writing is on the wall gentlemen, this series is in free fall and cross platform is just going to make it worse. They will ban throwing anything out of the zone so that those new to the game can compete, I mean it technically already is banned just look at the very late or very early foul balls.
DD will be a glorified baseball card binder next season, mark my words.

Opening sentence very true, runner up is destroying bunting across the entire game, both non-DD and DD. Can’t reliably sac bunt in franchise mode because of a Band-Aid put in place to combat DD bunt cheese.
Both Band-Aids that were thought up because of poor sportsmanship, and both poorly implemented.

Honestly there is no need to punish people for throwing the same pitch over and over again. I shouldn’t be punished because my opponent keeps swinging at sliders out of the zone and vice versa.

I agree to the point that a perfect perfect should 99.9% of the time be a hit. I can see a PP fly ball to deep center or a robbed HR being an our. But if I hit a PP for a line out or foul ball that doesn't make any sense. Perfect should mean PERFECT
Have you watched or played baseball before? Perfectly hit balls constantly get caught. That’s baseball. A perfect perfect line out totally makes sense. It happens all the time in real life. 99.9% is honestly a crazy expectation. If anything, pp flyballs are the only ones that should almost guarantee a hit because these are major leaguers with power so a pp flyball should almost always mean a homerun unless at polo grounds or a hitter with extremely low power. We do get perfect results most of the time on pp’s. That perfect result being an extremely hard hit ball. As for the pp foul balls, I agree with you there.

Agreed! Its the #1 complaint I have about this game.
Hopefully they'll create a "rec" league for newbies that just wanna have fun. The real rewards can stay in "competitive" ranked seasons.

Who should win this game in your better inputs world?
Player A - 3 perfects 6 goods 3 just early/late
Player B - 0 perfects 9 goods 3 just early/late
? Is it only hitting inputs that matter? What about pitching inputs?
2017 - 57.7% winning percentage
2018 - can’t see
2019 - 58.2% winning percentage
2020 - 57.7% winning percentageWe’ve been seeing the same complaints from you for years now, eventually it needs to stop being the game and start being the guy holding the controller
-
-
It’s weird to be agreeing with Canuckler, but his point is valid. Which inputs get rewarded?
If the pitcher has good input and the hitter has good input, will it be a hit or an out?
My experience lately is telling me that consistent decent input will bring better results than good (or perfect) input now and then.
In other words, if I have one or two PP a game and the rest of my swings are bad, I’m going to score less runs than if I have a bunch of 10’s, 11’s and 12’s.
Now some of you might say an 11 is a bad swing. If it is inside the pci with good timing, whether it is an 11 or not, that swing many times in a game is going to get rewarded more.
I think this is why the best players generally keep being the best players. It’s not just good input that is required, but consistent good input.
This is why I am spending way more time in custom practice. If I have to rely on one good swing every three innings, it’s not going to cut it most of the time.
-
It's very easy to say only input should determine the game, but no one ever seems to have the answer when posed with questions on that philosophy.

Many here have put forward answers. Lots of suggestions about having player attributes and variables change the input difficulty instead of the outcome. I’m sure I’ve seen you yourself contribute some really good ideas in those discussions.

I meant questions like this that ive put forth. If one person gets 9 good inputs spread out through one an inning and one gets 6, but all in one inning, that 6 probably wins bc he was able to produce a rally. Yet simply going by input, the first person was "better"

I see what you mean now. My bad, I interpreted it the wrong way.
I guess in that case it comes down to sample size. Which is the flaw in having a random matchup system in a baseball game - when the only takeaway is ‘winner’ or ‘loser’ in such a small sample size (9 innings, or worse in event and BR games), it’s easy for us to say ‘I had better inputs, I should have won’, but each time this claim is made, it’s the game log that validates it.
For the game to reward the player with the better overall input each time, the rules of baseball would need to be rewritten.

Yea because when I line out 15 times and strike out my opponent 25 times. I should lose based on win percentage? You are missing the point. I don’t care about losing I want to LOSE WHEN I SHOULD AND WIN WHEN I SHOULD. I’ll take a 30% win percentage if it means I earned it.

Over the past 4 years my batting averages have gone
17 - .332 I believe it was
18 - .280 in fairness it was the homer or bust year
19 - .330
20 - .330Have I complained in the past? Yea I have, though I’ve kept it pretty quiet this year because for the most part I’ve been satisfied with the game. However, have I lost a few games here or there across the years that I should have won and I outplayed my opponent? Absolutely I have. But I, with a decent amount of consistency will have better input than my opponents and my record and my stats reflect that. I don’t consider myself a great player by any stretch, but the great players consistently have better input than their opponents and their records and stats show that as well.

Are you slow? I’m not a sore loser. I don’t care about winning. I care about game integrity. And game equity. I’m the first person to say GG on a loss. An actual loss that is. This game doesn’t hand out wins and losses it hands out random trophies to various algorithms. Mlb the show the last 4 years has been 100% a random game.
People like you who defend this pile of trash is why the game plays so bad.
You were probably the guy 10 years ago crying that people should stop dirt balling because it’s unfair....
Think that’s not true? Well the community was split on it and I actually had to EXPLAIN to nerds how it’s the hitters job to be patient amd earn a pitch...what did they decide?
To allow people to foul off a million balls a game until you make a mistake for a homer
I’ve said it before. Legend and HOF are better. Once I get there I’m good. But getting there is random and that is a 100% fact.

-
I don’t think it will change your record much, you would probably lose more than you already do
-
Who should win this game in your better inputs world?
Player A - 3 perfects 6 goods 3 just early/late
Player B - 0 perfects 9 goods 3 just early/late
? Is it only hitting inputs that matter? What about pitching inputs?
2017 - 57.7% winning percentage
2018 - can’t see
2019 - 58.2% winning percentage
2020 - 57.7% winning percentageWe’ve been seeing the same complaints from you for years now, eventually it needs to stop being the game and start being the guy holding the controller
Over your head. You don’t get the complaint. You are always thinking I’m some sort of sore loser. Wrong guy.
You are a sore loser, like most people are, including myself. You’ve been here complaining for 4 years about the same thing, look in the mirror, your winning percentage hasn’t changed in 4 years, it’s the guy holding the controller not the game
You do care about winning, you try to throw things under the guise of game integrity but it’s about winning for you, I think it’s been 4 years of you being average at the game and you want to be good but you’re just not and it eats at you...
And no I would never complain about people throwing in the dirt all the time, I’ll just take my walks and win

Thank you. I've actually never seen or heard of real baseball. Is that a thing? LMAO!!! I understand that well hit high ELO balls can go right to a fielder for a lineout. But I ask, if a ball is hit right to someone, is that in fact a perfect swing? I would argue that it was a near perfect swing. Perfect should mean PERFECT..... IMO

It still is a perfect swing. The final result of the play has nothing to do with the swing. I can hit a shot right to the centerfielder and hit a shot 10 feet from the centerfielder that doesn't get caught and that doesn't change the fact that they were both perfect swings. The one right to the centerfielder might have even been better. That is just literally how baseball works which I will keep pointing out. The way you're thinking is like saying if I release a pitch perfectly and it goes exactly where I want then the hitter should not be able to hit it. That makes no sense. It just means that the hitter will have less of a chance to hit it but they still can just like if I square up a ball perfectly it means there is a better chance of it finding a gap or a hole but it doesn't guarantee a hit. Hitting a ball perfectly means just that, you hit it perfectly, it doesn't mean that it won't find a fielder's glove.
