I disagree,
Sure you do get Mantle/Biggio/Sheffield day one, but I don't think that means "Ok just open it up to more end-game players" It opens up a very slippery slope that could ruin probably the most fun time in the game, the time when we all don't have god squads and are running different teams.
Why don't we make 99 players the innings programs right away because you can get Sheffield/Biggio/Mantle day one! Some people may not be around to complete other innings programs later in the year!
Why don't we make event rewards end game players? You can get Mantle/Sheffield/Biggio day one, and some people may not have the time to play events later!
I love the early game when there are very few end-game players, we don't need more and more creeping closer to release day.

I think WS Rewards should be end-game caliber from the very first season.
Some people can’t make WS every season. Imagine making it to WS just once—Season One for Juan Pierre. And you never made again!! That’s horrible.
Now imagine only making it once—for Willie Mays.
Why does the guy who made it once late in the game cycle get an end-game caliber player (or one million stubs) and the guy who made it once early gets...Juan Pierre.
That isn’t right.
And before you say we shouldn’t have end-game caliber players on day one, consider you could get Mantle, Biggio, and Sheffield on day one, and they’re end-game players.
I’ve made it several times, so I’m not posting this for myself. I was just thinking, “Man, if I made it in Season One and haven’t made it since I’d be feeling like I got robbed.”
nah, stupid idea, only mantle is really an end game card, few people use Sheffield and he is only a bench bat because of his horrendous fielding and nobody uses biggio.

I disagree with all of you.
The achievement in March and April should be rewarded the same as the same achievement in October and November.
I think it’s harder to make it earlier in the game.
And I still use Biggio. I don’t use Sheffield, though. Haha.

And no, it's okay to have a 3 end game cards at the beginning of the game, because baseball is a team sport, and it usually takes more than 3 players to win you a game, but when you have like 6 99 overall players within the first month, it's not fun. The game will get stale, you play with the same players all year, and there will not be that much to earn throughout the rest of the year. I'm sorry I should have rephrased that, I have played about 40 games of Ranked Seasons in the last two months and I have not played Biggio once, maybe because nobody plays with him above division series. It's definitely not harder earlier in the game, because you play a whole bunch of idiots, I started the year off 22-0 is RS because I played against people that had no business being matched up against me.

Okay what about this:
Exchange Program for WS Rewards?
You can trade in your Juan Pierre for Ted Williams. Maybe lock it after one trade or something. I don’t know.
I just feel bad because there are some guys out there stressing like crazy to get to WS. Maybe they lucked out early in the cycle and won a game, but they can’t get back to 900.
Then some guy, who has also been stressing, but his lucky game came in October. Now he has Chris Sale.
It doesn’t seem fair to me considering they both aren’t good enough to make it consistently, but one was lucky in the right month.

nah, because then I could just buy juan for like 30k, then get ted williams for 1 mil. It'll screw up the market. Not to mention that you can just exchange a 91 for a 99? Nah, its a good idea to be fair, but that's how the ball rolls and you gotta deal with the hand you were dealt.

What constitutes an “idiot” who you play in the earlier part of the game cycle?

People that just picked up the game, people that struggle to get past pennant race, people who swing at every pitch, no matter the location. That sort of stuff

Alright, fine. I guess I’m on my own with this one.
I still feel like it is unjust that making WS early in the cycle isn’t as rewarding as making it later.
And for the record, I thought the WS rewards were whack when they came out back then. I spoke against Britton and Pierre; I thought then and still believe that they were slaps in the face to the community.
But I guess I’m the only one. It’s okay. I’m used to having unpopular opinions. Haha.
Good luck, everyone!

I will say, though, that if everyone knew you could trade your 91 WS reward for a 99 a few months later, they wouldn’t be selling it for 30k, Dingers. In fact, it would ensure that WS rewards from the early season maintained their value, which sort of at the heart of my argument here.

I mean that same Juan Pierre is currently 800k on the market.
They do maintain their value over the long-haul.
-
Oh. Then what is he talking about?
But I wonder, how cheap is the cheapest WS reward in the market right now?

The 91 Hornsby is 1M, the Britton is 900k. I think Juan Pierre at 800k is the cheapest
Even Tino Martinez is 1m
-
I doubt anyone is buying them, though. Why would anyone buy 91 Hornsby for 1M?
-

The 1m is buy orders, not sell orders. You have to wait in line to pay 1m for him
-
That’s how people stash stubs, isn’t it? Put in buy orders for cards that aren’t moving?
-

No, not on a card like that where there are only 11 buy orders at 1m. Chances are super high of getting that card. If people wanted to stash stubs they'd pick Chipper or something.
And even then, that's irrelevant to the actual conversation. There are orders there and you can click a button and sell him instantly for 1m, he sells for 1m

What's wrong about Britton? He's a really good card.

Obviously, which makes it completely unfair and stupid.
