Is Gehrig really the best first baseman? Is he worth the grind?
Is Ruth better than Mantle? I’m not sure who to put in RF, and Ruth doesn’t have a Prestige card.
Musial at 1B has been great for me, but I also have Foxx (my current catcher).
What do you all recommend?
-
I hear Foxx is great wherever he plays. I think the agreed meta first basemen are Gehrig and Bellinger.
See who works for you. I’m rocking Bellinger there but there are a lot of first base options. Joey Votto? Thames? Josh Bell? Freeman?

Bellinger is a guy I should target; I’ve been using Musial.
I LOVE his swing, and the defensive penalties appear far less than the game seems to indicate they should be.
My only concern with Foxx is that he’s my starting catcher, and his arm is good, but not great.
-
Yeah, most people are happy to sacrifice a little defense for Foxx’s bat.

Even at catcher? I’ve been getting by...so far.
-
Even at catcher, although obviously those of us that value defense will go with Salvy or Pudge.

That’s my exact struggle lol.

I use Belli in RF, Foxx at 1B, and Perez at C.
While there are plenty of solid OF options, I think those three are three of the best bats in the game.

Belli over Ruth, Mantle, and Musial? Overall or just the bat?
Salvy’s bat and defense are so tempting.

My outfield is Mantle, Trout and Griffey. Some have Mays in there. Have you seen that brev video on player position tiers? Maybe that would help you decide.
Ultimately though, play who you want and hit well with...

I’ve been running Soto, Trout, and Ruth/Mantle out there, but I don’t have Belli or Mays.

Musial is too slow in the OF, same with Ruth. I prefer better defense and speed. That said, I didn’t do anything spectacular with Mantle.
I prefer Arozarena, Cobb, Belli. If I want more power I sub Trout or Jr for Cobb.
-
Arozarena is pretty good. He was streaky for me but good on base percentage. He is currently sitting because I finally got Mantle but we’ll see if he finds his way back into the lineup.
-
My current squad. Defense is a must in the outfield.
LF Cobb
CF Trout
RF Prestige Mantle
1B Finest Belli
3B SigSeries Chipper
C Foxx
2B CAP
SS Prestige HonusBench: Prestige JRam, Prestige Realmuto, Griffey, Seager and Mondesi.
Cobb is barely holding onto his job, he always seems to go off right before I finally bench him.
