Best Players Slumping
-
Anyone have an issue with their best hitters going into a slump after using them for so long? For example the 99 Nick Castellanos was my best hitter for quite a while, he was hitting like .375 at one time, but as of late, (maybe his last 75-100 at bats) he’s been bad, his average has gone down to .315
I’ve had similar slumps with players like 96 Yaz, 99 Jackie, 99 Nolan but not as drastic.
Should I just bench them for a few games and see if I’m more fresh when them then?
If you’ve had this issue, I’d love to hear how you fixed it.

This seems to happen to me after I prestige a player

This, although Bagwell and Walker are like salmon swimming upstream.

I agree - almost feel like they do have an energy drain and need a day or two off.

I think the game is telling you there are some new "pictures" in the marketplace!!

Less people are playing, and those that are still playing are hardcore sweats. The casual player left the game a long time ago. So playing better players only your averages and stats are going to go down.

While this is true, a meatball is a meatball. It doesn't matter who is on the other end of the controller if the ball is right down the middle. I've definitely run into stretches where it seems like each time I square up a pitch that drifted over the middle of the plate with a guy I had previously been dominating with, the result is a series of fly outs and line outs. It happened to me with Mantle. I wasn't really striking out with him much, and the PCI was on the ball pretty consistently with good timing. He just had absolutely no luck and everything was caught.
I'm not saying that anything is necessarily programmed into the game to make that happen, but I've definitely run into extended slumps with some guys for what seems like no reason.
