I usually get excited about new and improved game play features that will FINALLY make the game feel like real baseball online. But I gave up hope on that last year and waited until October to buy the games this year. I may do that again. I also like new legends and content but I really feel like the game is starting to cap out on content. This year there was so much to do and so many players that I don't think a content update alone can make me purchase the game day one. There content was the best in years off you ask me.

I think it will really depend on how the program is delivered next year. This year they included showdown and player programs tied to innings while removing moments for the bosses. The MA programs were more enjoyable this year than years past as it was about logging game time rather than $. Some cards played better/worse than last year so it was interesting to see which you should obtain. Aside from gameplay the only thing that sucked was prestiging players. It forced players to log extra hours for cards they would have already earned in prior years.

The mistake with prestige cards was them being their own separate card series and not just a +3 to all attributes. The +3 doesn't make any sort of difference 95% of the time. Everyone just has the mindset that they want the "best" version of a card when the normal versions and prestige versions are almost exactly the same

I like the beginning because mostly everyone you pull you can use, and if not they sell for a good amount. Nothing better than pulling a gold for 10k or terrible diamonds and sell them for 30k. Its nice collecting all the cards again and getting a good team.

You take a break and let the itch come back and or fall for the same [censored] marketing we fall for every year.

I really enjoy building up my team, I like the first months of the cycle more than the end, so it's easy for me to get excited about the new one

MLBTS 20 was my first baseball game since MVP 2005.

Despite some complaints about RNG, I had a blast this year. I've completed nearly everything and have over 99% of the cards in the game. Only missing the EXTREME Pearson and Gehrig.

Anyway.....after pouring so many hours into this game, I'm unsure how I feel about "starting over" on MLBTS '21. For those that play year after year, how do you get the motivation to start the grind from scratch.

The main reason I ask is I played 2K for 2 years straight, hardcore. By the time I got this year's game, I quit the MyTeam card mode in a week because I couldn't bring myself to grind for the same cards (some even have the same picture!) that I just did the year before.

Does the Show "feel" new each year? Just looking for ways to get motivated to start the grind all over and if MLB differs from other games with fresh new stuff each year. NBA 2K got more stale than a month old bag of open chips!!!!!! 👍 👽

Starting from scratch is what makes me most excited for the new game. I wouldn't even want to be able to carry my team over from this year. Some of the main fun from this game is starting your team from scratch and grinding to build that team up.

Because of just that. Right now there is nothing to do and no reason to play. I have done it all. It is the launch of the new game that is by far the most fun. If they made the best MLB game ever and just carried over everything from the previous year I would have no interest in playing. That is like starting any other video game with all the weapons and items from the beginning. Who would want to play that?

If you're a mostly offliner, you jump to the new version because of the new cards, new modes, the thrill of completing new collections, maps, etc.

If you're an onliner, then the pool of players playing last years game is going to dwindle and in order to keep playing, you're going to want to upgrade to where everyone else is.

Enjoy the ride on the way to the top. It's fun starting from scratch and collecting from the start. Sometimes the most fun is building towards that end game squad. I have almost every card as well but am definitely ready to start again. Night one of The Show release is a special time. 😋

I just started anew on an alternate account. Luckily the Seager program gets you a LOT early, but it is frustrating a bit to be so underpowered. I was able to do the Shark Conquest for major goodies, but these won't be available from the get go in 2021. I play offline DD.
I'll do the same in '21 from the ground up, though. Even if I amassed my greatest team ever in '20.

MVP 05 still has more players today than The Show 20. That game and the modding community are incredible to this day.

I’m losing interest, I just play the events to get the cards. And that is becoming tedious because the game just doesn’t reward good contact. But be early or late and the sky is the limit
