Why do people seem to want Roberto Clemente in the game so much?

I understand he was a great person but his card just wouldn’t be that good. He’d be similar to Ty Cobb with a bit lower contact and speed, and a better arm. A great card don’t get me wrong just not one I’m dying to have. I’d much rather have Pedro, Randy Johnson, or a bunch of the Negro Leagues players before Clemente.

Why can't we have both? The more diversity in legends, the better.

No disagreeing with you here. I'd love to see him in the game, he's just not #1 on my list. There seem to be a lot of people online who want him to be the "big new legend" in 21 like Mantle, Mays, and Griffey have been in years past.

I think he would be a very solid card especially early in the game. It’s cards like jeter and manny that people seem to want that I don’t think would be a good translation into the game. . Jeter would be a slower version of honus with lower defense. Manny would be jd Martinez. Great bat but unplayable in the field. I’d love Clemente or better yet frank robinson or hank Aaron, I know many of these could be in the game but I’m thinking of who the big legend reveal could be.

He would be a right handed Tony Gwynn but with a 99 arm. By no means a useless card but if 21 plays like 20 then I agree - Probably not an end game starter.
