If Barry Bonds gets voted into the HoF...
-
Whats the likelihood we see him next season? Is the HoF a separate entity from the MLBPA?
-
0%.
HoF and MLBPA are separate. But it's irrelevant in Bonds's case anyway since he opted out of MLBPA.

But if he's in the HoF, SDS gets his rights correct?

No, most Hall of famers (or their estates) retain the rights to their name, even if elected into the HoF
Like Clemente is in the hall of fame, but SDS does not have his rights

Good to know. I assumed it was an all inclusive thing.

Even if he gets in he won't be in a MLB game.
However I don't think Bonds gets into the hall of fame this year the only one i think that will is Scott Rolen. I just don't see Bonds/Clemens/Ortiz/ Schilling or Ramirez getting enough votes.

Bonds, Clemens and Schilling lead.

Amazing, i never thought i would see that. If they succeed in getting in then i will happily eat my own words. I meant nothing against any of them just thought this would be the same as any year.

Haha you're good. I'm just as surprised as you are tbh. I've seen a lot of ballots on reddit and majority I've seen have Bonds marked.

I do think Bonds and Clemens deserves to be in the HOF

Bonds and Clemens are both Top 10 Career WAR. The next eligible not-in guy is #65 Schilling (Bonds literally doubles his WAR.)
After that, you're looking at...
#74 Jim McCormick (1870s guy)
#77 Bill Dahlen (1890s guy)
#80 Lou Whitaker
#90 Palmeiro
#93 ... Bobby Grich?!? (Ok, I'm ready to listen to the 'WAR is broken' crowd now.) -

But none of them have enough votes at this time to get in.
