The last game from CS to WS has crazy RNG
-
Coming from a player that has hit the 1100s, when you make world series it's easier to win against players above 1000 than against little billy at 850. I know this thread will get a lot of opinions, but based on all the games I've played, my winning percentage gets much lower in that final game. Feels like this makes sense because after hitting WS there's not much left to play for...

Lol I've experienced this but have kept it to myself. Some of it may be nerves but honestly I never go into a game shook...things just happen...squared balls just go nowhere and it's so prevalent in that last game...so I agree...after that it's when the fun starts...

I actually rarely lose my WS play-in game, at least if my memory is serving me right, which it might not be. It's just a matter of getting past the 700-750 bouncing point

I can agree on the 750 point. I as at 754 the other day, I lost from seager trying to barehand a chopper from 2nd base bag, then a very high chopper over my 1st baseman, next AB is ballgame.

I lost two separate WS play in games on some outlandish bs a season or two ago and haven't touched RS since.

I never made the WS, but have made it to "that game" of the CS a few times over the past few years....and got destroyed each time. SMH
It is ok with me though, as it kind of gives me the motivation to keep playing, collecting cards, and chasing the dream. LOL -
I think the whole HOF grind is [censored] tbh. Haven’t noticed anything different in my WS games, but the grind from 900-970 or so is brutal bc of switching between HOF and legend. Plus I feel washed. Def not as good as I was last year so that makes it harder.

But RNG shouldn't always work against you. Statistically it's very unlikely that the RNG works in your opponent's favor in ALL of those WS games. I can tell from my own experience that I haven't encountered any of this during my own WS games, which leads me to believe you were just unfortunate with chance ruling against you JUST often enough for you think there's more to it while there really isn't in reality. But you're inclined to believe so because you started noticing it and then later you feel like you got confirmation with maybe only the slightest RNG going against you. Sort of a confirmation bias.

I think RNG & sliders are adjusted more when you are playing against someone well below your skill set. I've seen a lot more weirdness going on with guys rated well below me than guys rated above me.

I haven't noticed any of that, to me it differs from game to game and that is most likely a result of connection quality and thus latency. I don't think there's any correlation with my opponent's skill level whatsoever, assuming we're playing on HOF/legend.

Guys, but getting from the 500’s to the 600’s is the hardest thing to get by, am I right? Guys? Guys?

Lol well I could definitely see the argument in this, because on All-Star anyone can beat anyone. You can get outplayed against someone who wouldn't (and shouldn't) stand a chance against you on HOF or Legend. In All-Star territory anything's possible.

I felt this way too but figured it was just me being frustrated in those games so one season I decided to keep track of my at bats. From games where I was ranked 700-880 on swings where I made good/good contact or better including perfect/perfect I reached safely on 76% of those balls put in play. On games where I was ranked between 880-899 my percentage dropped to 49%. So yes, In my opinion based on tracking of my statistics for an entire RS season I think the final one or two “over the hump” games - The sliders are significantly different.

The title sounds like one thing but the point made sounds like another. Title basically says how "random" your WS game is. But then you made it sound like it was just tougher. Like odds are stacked more against you. That isnt RNG. RNG is randomness. Like rolling a dice every time. But I digress.
In years past I never noticed any difference in that game. I cannot speak to this year as I have stopped playing H2H until they can get us connected right.
