First off, yes, the old timers rule that stat. lol
I could not find the single season one, but was able to get the leaderboard.
1: Cy Young with 749
2. Pud Galvin with 646
3: Tim Keefe with 554
4: Kid Nichols with 532
5: Walter Johnson with 531
EDIT: When looking at the single season record, it has the winner with 75 CG. Umm, that is not correct. lol -

On September 4, 1999, the Reds set the MLB record with 9 home runs in one game!
The Reds were playing the Phillies at Veterans Stadium.
Some notable names in the Reds lineup are Aaron Boone and Barry Larkin. Some notable names from the Phillies lineup are Doug Glanville and Bobby Abreu.
For starting pitching:
The Reds starter was Pete Harnisch, who went 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs.
The Phillies starter was Paul Byrd, who went 3.2 IP, giving up 7 hits, 5 runs, and 3 home runs.
For home runs:
Ed Taubensee let the way with 2 home runs.
Pokey Reese, Dmitri Young, Greg Vaughn, Aaron Boone, Mark Lewis, Jeffery Hammonds, and Brian Johnson all hit one HR. -

For the has any player hit 5 hime runs question. Apparently 4 players have homered 5 times in one game (Pete Schneider 1923, Lou Frierson 1934, Cecil Dunn 1936, and [censored] Lane 1948) also Lipman Pike in the professional era in 1886.
