Why is there no DH?
-
I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseam somewhere and I'm late to it, but personally never have seen an explanation as to why there is no DH in either league in DD. So could someone clue me in please?
-
Because Orel hitting a 400ft+ bomb is more competitive and realistic.
-
I’m on the fence with this. It’s all in or nothing IMO. With it, it creates a more offensive game. Without it, it makes the management skill be tested.
I’d much rather see the ability to set a 25 man lineup with batting lineups vs RHP & LHP.
-
Because Manfred decided on that one after SDS developed the game and they chose not to add it in later.
-
Pure laziness. There’s no excuse for it in my opinion.

I get that but there's always been one in the AL so didn't know why they chose not to implement that leagues rules over the NL's.

I think it will suck if they add the DH to the line up. The batting P adds so much strategy to the game that would be a shame to lose.
-
Because the majority of dont want a DH as it takes so much out of the game. And mainly because it was implemented for just 2 Months and after the game was already made, and with no plans of going forward and using it. So if MLB ever comes out and says the DH is universal, then and only then would SDS make it part of a MLB baseball game.

The batting Pitcher is the least of it. It is more about strategy. Do I pull my SP or RP that I have in because his spot is due up and would I rather a better bat and lose that pitching? Do I try and let this guy get one more out to end the inning because pitcher spot is due up when I bat and if I sub my pitcher now I will lose him for a PH? That is 2 examples of baseball moves that would be lost. Not to mention an almost useless bench, and TBH relief pitchers wont matter as much because no reason for guys to pull Starter because its a close game in the 5th or 6th and they want to try a bench bat instead when pitcher comes up.
-
Maybe when they introduce position player fatigue they’ll introduce the DH.
-
If there was a DH your bench players would virtually never get used as there'd be no need to have them pinch hit for the pitcher. It would just see the same lineups time after time (like all you face is Kluber. YAWN)
-
Because having the pitcher spot in there adds a deeper layer of strategy and decision making which is something we definitely need in a game that has already been dumbed down in many aspects.

I'm hoping to crank one with a pitcher before things get all Universal.
I hit one with Ohtani as an OF, so that doesn't count.
What I'd like to see if the UDH happens is the BBHOF put up some kind of 'Pitchers Who Rake,' or raked shrine.
A few come to mind, like Dontrelle, Carlos Zambrano, Madbum, CC, Big Jake or Noah. -

because the DH is not real baseball

Will make it a tad harder to Prestige pitchers too.

He didn't really hit anything the rest of the game. That's up there with losing on an inside the park grand slam by Grandal.
