21 getting delayed?

Seems like the tweet today hints that 21 could be delayed. Generally we would see a cover athlete around now and info on pre order etc. As that is happening content for the current game tends to slow. Finest came out last year in the ninth inning. The tweet seems to imply that there won’t be any new info for 2021 until 2021. May also be why there was such a gap between ta3 and ta4 since they now want to stretch out the content a bit.
Probably really challenging to develop next years game for ps5 and possibly other platforms while some developers are still working remotely. Stinks but probably nothing they can do with everything that has happened this year.

Most the cover reveals are around the first or 2nd week of Nov going back the last few years. Last year was kinda early. But the 2 before werent. Actually going back to 16 looks like they announced Donaldson in December. So who knows when that will drop. Also got to figure with going to other platforms that could cause delays on announcements. All I can figure. But there has to be some challenges going to a whole new system and then to new platforms. So I wouldnt be surprised.

All the challenges would have been tough but mixing in COVID and I wouldn’t be surprised in they had to delay.

Good thoughts! I am expecting the athlete SOON, but they might delay. Wouldn't that look bad though? Especially if they don't tell us about it.

Call of Duty was delayed by 3 weeks. Typically its out by now, but this year, it's Nov. 13. I think its more so with the new consoles coming out though.

I mean, they didnt announce when did they? And since it is normally in Nov except for Dec a few years ago, I dont think they can announce a delay. As is delaying other aspects of the game maybe. But I couldnt care less about who is on the cover. I buy digital anyways. They are just gonna find someone that can make all the commitments that it takes being on the cover. Which cannot be fun if you are already a superstar. You have to do a lot of work with SDS and make appearances promoting the game. Especially in this day and age it seems it could be challenging finding a cover guy.

Let's say 21 is delayed by 4-6 weeks landing a late April early May release is that really horrible.
I ask that as we could he more content to have away at in 20 also there is a huge backlog of games I need to work throught a extend break from MLB could be just what the DR ordered.

I doubt the game itself will be delayed. Not launching along with the season would be deadly and would be a serious black eye given MLB's increased involvement vis-a-vie multi platform.
I CAN see the announcement being delayed as they scramble to finalize the new feature set. Because the announcement isn't JUST a date and a cover athlete. It's also pre-order bonuses. Go back to previous years and look at how the pre-order stuff was integrated into Diamond Dynasty and you'll see they almost have to have the entire year mapped out before they finalize the list of goodies.
