Entering a BR game, only 3-0 so not deep in a run yet, during the line up screen the game crashes. Blue screen, with a CE error code which I can report. Boot the game back up, guess what.. I took an L.
If this happened to me at 11-0, I would've instantly deleted the game and never ever bat another eye towards future installments. What a joke.
This happens to me when I don’t power my console down and use rest mode. Presumably something to with the cache, because I’ve also noticed after a while of not rebooting and using rest mode the game plays absolutely terribly, almost like a bad connection game. I can’t hit the ball until I’ve rebooted.
Clearing the cache does what exactly for the game ?
Not specifically for the game, but it makes your system run smoother by deleting all the stuff in your cache which can impact performance and sometimes it has faulty files in it that can cause crashes.

Thanks for the tip. I use rest mode a lot and the game plays like [censored] for days at a time. I'll try clearing out the cache and start powering off

For people who want to know how to clear the PS4 cache:
Power down your system, then hold the power button on your console down until you hear a second beep (indicating its booting up in safe mode).
Then wire your DS4 with a USB cable to your system, press the PS button on the controller and scroll down to option 5 'rebuild database'. It will take a minute or sometimes a few minutes.Careful you don't choose 'initialize PS4' or you'll set it back to factory settings and everything will be gone

Doing this every month should do the trick right ? Or should I do it more often ?

There isn't really a standard for it, but I like to do it about every other week. Maybe I'm just neurotic though.

This exact thing happened to me at 7-0. Furthest I had made it so far and was killing it. I just want Chipper. That’s it. BR is not my thing haha

In that case it might take a bit longer than 1 minute. You're welcome though.

I'm curious how long mine might take now lol. I've had my console since launch, never done this, and ALWAYS put it in rest mode. Probably haven't even restarted my ps4 in 6 months..... poor thing.

Yeah I also said 'restore database', should've been 'rebuild database'. Not a huge deal, but there is another option above that is named 'restore something something', could be confusing so I edited my post and corrected it. I was certain it was option 5 though.

Does a controller HAVE to be connected via an USB cable for this to work!

Yes, because in safe mode the bluetooth is disabled.
