What happened with a commemorative Joe Morgan card?
-
There was one for Whitey, Gibson, and all the others that have sadly passed this year. Why no Joe Morgan card still?
-
My guess would be he might’ve already been a future boss choice?
-
10th inning is coming soon?
-
I think stage 4 of team affinities will be “Franchise all time greats” and Morgan will be for the Reds

No it won’t. The best player in the Royals, Phillies, and Padres history were released in TA3.

There was not a commemorative card for everyone who passed away this year. There were only two. The two you mentioned by name. No special cards for Al Kaline, Tom Seaver, or Lou Brock. They were already in game at the times of their passing. I’m sure that SDS already had plans to add Morgan.

There was an Al Kaline program at the beginning of the year to commemorate his passsing

I think we could have a good argument between Schmidt and Carleton about best to wear the Jersey. Maybe they will put best player at opposite position, ie if it was a hitter for TA3, it would be a pitcher for TA4?

But with that theory the Padres can't happen. Their best Pitcher (Hoffman) already got his best card

Yeah I can't see that happening. While I think it would be asinine for it to be Finest given how they were handled in years past, that seems to be the best theory so far.

Jake Peavy, Gaylord Perry, Mark Davis and Randy Jones all won CY awards there. Kevin Brown In his one season there was amazing. Heath Bell had some big years.
Hoffman was their best career pitcher franchise-wise, but others have had some awards worthy cards too.

True, but none of those guys are in the game. Perry used to be, but his best card has always been with the Indians anyway

Yep. I'm still hoping, however remote the chance is, that TA4 wont be finest players but surprise additions.
I really dont want 30+ 99 versions of today's players incoming. At this point nearly every player will have a diamond version then. Give us a surprise for all of us waiting.
-
YEAH! I was totally looking forward to that. I hope something is in the works. He was one of my childhood heroes.
Joe Morgan deserves to be remembered for the classy champion he was!
With a slammin' 99 second base SS card!
-
Yeah needs to happen!
