9th Inning Showdown

I simply cannot do this showdown. I have tried 5 times and keep failing. I either fail the Blue boss, or I get all the first 5 missions, then fail the least 5. Any tips?
I was like you and finally passed it around my 6th or 7th try. I didn’t draft any pitchers, just left-handed bats that have good power. I took pitches until there were 2 strikes in every at-bat against Jansen. I failed this a few times, but the more you do it, the more you’ll see the bosses and get used to them.

Get Jansen to 50 pitches and.he will be in the red. You should be able to absolutely smash him at this point. Draft someone like AJ Pollock or Andruw Jones early so you can get past Vida.

Took me forever but I finally got it last night. And I went into Jansen down 8-15. I took Honus first for his speed. There's very few High Speed/Steal guys in the Pool so he was my lead off. I did end up getting the Gold Jackie Rookie Card as well later on. Finley for the next diamond. Not a big fan of his swing but he hit some clutch homers. Mostly took Lefties or Switch hitters in the beginning. Just like the 8th inning when they applied the Dead Ball Sliders to the Showdown, I focused more on contact and vision with a few power guys in between. And as much as I can't stand him Sean Menea did the best for me pitching. Travis D'Arnaud is a good pickup with High Righty on Righty Contact and Power. Big Fan of the Daulton Varsho Prospect card, but I've always hit well with him. Good contact/Vision, decent power, Good Speed for a Catcher. Gold Chipper got me some clutch hits, but I benched him vs. Vida. Kole Calhoun isn't bad, but his contact is weak same for Max Muncie. And unless your Desperate for Cards and that last diamond perk...SKIP the Kimbrell Boss Mission! It's not worth the Stress. Wear Kenley Down, Don't expect to score all your runs early. Keep guys on base, do not swing low in the zone. He's an absolute DP machine when his Stamina and Confidence are high.

I usually skip the showdown, I hate them that much. No hate is not a strong enough word, I utterly despise showdown.
That being said, I did the draft for fun (for some reason, I like doing the draft) and when I got to pick my perks I got, in my opinion, one of the most OP perks in the game.It is the bronze "Lucky 7" perk. If you are patient and can foul off a ball or two, the 7th pitch of the at bat is a meatball down the middle.
I absolutely love this perk.I will give it a shot this evening.

I will have to look for that perk next draft. Thanks!

Its not a guaranteed HR, but man it is the closest thing to it. You still need to time it right and I have hit a few perfect-perfect lineouts, but usually it is a no doubt HR.
And yes, I have swung and missed on one of them out my pure joy of finally getting to pitch number 7...lol. Talk about embarrassing.

It really helps you in taking pitches.
I am not kidding, I am a much, much more patient hitter when I have / because of this perk.
I am usually a "grip it and rip it" kind of player, but this perk has single handedly helped me take more pitches and work counts. -

Same. This should help me too!

This one took me a while. Funny thing is that after trying both Wagner and Foxx multiple times it wasn't until the 4th diamond option in the first pick of the draft happened to be Musial that I snatched him up and he carried me through.
