9th inning pick

I could use a new 3rd baseman. Was thinking I would pick Foxx, but just finished the showdown with Honus after failing it with Foxx. Honus hit 4 bombs and I think I only got out with him twice in all of the missions. With Foxx, I hit a HR with him in the first mission, then went 0 for the rest of the showdown with him. Is it a bad idea to make the pick based on how you did with a card in a showdown. Small sample size I know. I already have two speed guys that I like in Biggio and Cobb, so I'd rather go power for third base, but someone mentioned in another thread that Foxx was a push hitter and I don't think I want to force myself to be a little late everytime Foxx comes up to get good exit velocity... I don't know what I'm going to do with this pick
-
The answer is BOTH. Pick 1 and Buy 1
-
Jansen is the only one that I care about.
-
Fox is a bench bat, change my mind. Honus is probably the ultimate utility guy, speed, contact, some power, can play anywhere in the infield. Jansen looks good but there are a lot of solid closers. I'll pick up all 3, but if stubs are tight you could probably sell and pass.
-
I bought foxx picked up honus and I’m kinda wary about jansen. Foxx is a machine, started slow but I’m batting 300 plus with him and he hits bombs. Honus just doesn’t feel like he fits the meat but I’ve only have 25 at bats. Jansen I just think is going to be bp.

I liked Honus over Foxx in the Showdown. All depends on what you think your team is missing. Mine needs a shortstop, so when I get my 300 stars next week, I will probably lean towards Honus.
-
I have a question for those who play regularly above all star. Does high contact make a big difference in hitting? On AS it's not that big a deal, for example I have been using J-Roll mostly and he's fine, but would his PCI be way smaller and play much harder than say Wagners on HOF?

Foxx is the truth.

In the showdown, I liked Honus too. I'm leaning that way.

Or I may sell and finally get Ted Williams

I barely use my bullpen, I will not choose him. If I get to 300 stars, I will probably sell the most expensive card.
-
So I was just going to pick a boss and sell cause I didn’t see a need. I chose Honus and put him in for a few games at 2nd base and first game I was a homer away from a cycle. Second game 2 doubles and a single. So now he’s prob my new 2nd baseman
-
I don't have a need, but I'm gonna pick Honus or Foxx and buy the other one. Kenley doesn't impress me that much.
-
I picked Foxx and bought the other two.
I’m loving Foxx and using him at catcher, batting him 4th between MVP Trout and Mike Honcho.
I already sold back Honus for a bit of a loss because I had a slow
Start with him and I have plenty of other options.I’m trying to grind Kenley in the Event for prestige stats, but so far I’m
Not a huge fan. Harder to tell on AS in a 3 inning event, but I’ve been better with my other pitchers. I keep 4 RH relievers and so far I’ve been better with Prestige Mo, Dibble and I just got Gossage who seems legit too. So if I keep Kenley he’d be my 4th RH option, so for 300 K it’s prob not worth it. Especially when they released some decent relievers in those newer cards(like RIB and Postseason). -
anyone know what happened to cause prices to randomly skyrocket on these bosses

When? A day or two ago they were up in the 320-360ish range that I saw. They’re actually down a bit since more people are probably getting to 300 Stars.

I picked Honus too. Hes been good, couple HRs and SBs. Also, I've been playing him at third and the defense has been so smooth. I didn't think speed would matter at 3rd base, but it helps on chasing down foul balls and getting to slow choppers quicker
-
Foxx because I didnt have enough stubs for him last year.
