Why does this happen?

Why, when using meter throwing and executing perfectly, does the toss from the shortstop to the second baseman, in an attempt to turn two, sail high, causing the second baseman to leap in the air in order to catch the ball?
Why does that happen? What’s the point of having a diamond fielder and perfect inputs to get this result?
Inexplicable. Don’t have this animation next year. It’s horrible.
