99 Ty Cobb is THE best card in the 8th program
-
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to TheShow20, this is my first year playing and I've drank gallons of the kool-aid!
I don't have time to play as much online as I'd like because I spend most of my time in the game grinding for cards.
Once I reached 300 stars in the 8th inning program I quickly chose Kershaw and he's great. Then I did the Conquest Extreme map and hit the pack-luck lottery! I scored tons of diamonds that I already had and found myself with around half a million stubs.
Really wanting a solid catcher I bought Pudge, and he absolutely rakes! Then because I had two of the inning bosses I went ahead and bought Cobb to get the voucher for the 9th inning. (I was able to buy both cards for WELL under the current market value too, so I feel like it was a win-win.)
I put Cobb in for Larry Walker, a REALLY tough choice, but I figured it would just be temporary. My outfield before Cobb was/is 99 Trout, 99 Mantle, and 99 Walker, (as I mentioned earlier, I love to grind!) IMO, Ty Cobb is THE best card in the pack and THE best lead-off hitter in the game. 125 contact on both sides and 99 speed makes him a singles-base stealing maniac! his 90 power on both sides with the Bomber quirk gives him enough pop too.
The 8th inning has the best bosses so far, IMO. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts??
I'm still on the fence about putting Walker back because he's amazing too. It's a fun dilema to have!

I just bought him and through 4 games I’m 0-10 with two walks. I’m sure he’ll turn it around as I loved him last year
-
Yeah, Cobb is the man, started off slow, but has been a hitting machine lately, average up to .347.
-
Cobb is better than Pudge offensively, but Pudge is far and away the best defensive catcher in the game.
Kershaw needs to be prestiged for his full value, Cobb can be plugged in right away and have a major impact on both sides of the ball.

I fuxking suck with him

Cobb started slow for me, too. I think it's just a matter of getting used to how he hits more than anything.
Does anyone see a lot of balls thrown to him? Because that's what happens when I have Cobb at the plate. Pitcher tends to throw out of the zone a lot, and when he throws in the zone, it's in locations where it's hard to get a decent hit. I sometimes struggle with him as a result.

He is atthe very least in the top 3 from the program

He does seem to walk a lot. Use Cobb and your other speedy bunters to get passed the Mariano moment in extreme.

Cobb was great for me in Conquest Extreme. I batted Rickey first and Cobb second. Any time one or both got on base to start the game, it was like a guaranteed run (or more) and the game was basically over. Lots of stolen bases and he also hit some homers for me.

I’m loving up TN Trae Turner at leadoff
-
I chose Cobb at 300 and at the lead off position has hit 21 HRs in 48 games and is now hitting 390

Cobb is great

12 rbis away from prestiging him. He is amazing.

99 Rickey. As an A's fan, I would have paid any price. But he's been great for me, lots of leadoff HRs.

Life long Cubs fan, but loved watching Rickey Henderson play. Was always amazed back then of a leadoff hitter who could hit HRs.

Is Ty Cobb really as good as people are saying?

He has shocked me with how much power he has. Only player who will knock him out of my lineup is Willie Mays. Trout and Mantle are amazing.

It bothers me that he doesn't have a number. I know that's a stupid thing to be bothered by but I can't help it... lol
