It's shocking how many dont know we have an edit function.
Not to be that guy, but I heard he was pretty selfish about the streak at the end.

I imagine the more consecutive games he played, the harder it got to quit. Imagine playing 2000 straight games then just saying “Ah, screw it. I’m taking a rest day.”
