Hey everyone, I tried the Galaxy (light purple) KF's however I didnt like using them. I wanted to try the new COD ones, or the Omni ones. However the Omni ones look like a concave similar to the galaxy and that is why I didnt like the galaxy ones. I am looking for ones that will make the controller analog tighter for better PCI control. Hope that makes sense. Please help me out b/c I am struggling at this game and I am trying to get better. I even made homemade Kontrol Freeks out of plastic and such and they worked ok. has anyone made a homemade one and it has worked? Please lmk! Thanks

The normal CQC with precision rings is what I use.

How do you use the precision rings? I tried them and I could barely move the pci from the middle of the plate.

Can you post a link to what rings you use? I’ve been considering getting some myself

More on topic, I have done some extensive research throughout the last few years on what the elite players use. Not to copy them, because what might work for them doesn't mean it has to work for you or me, but because I was genuinely interested to see if I was able to spot a trend.

Which I did. Most top players who use KontrolFreeks use the CQC signature model. Those are the green ones. Use that piece of information however you please.

Me personally, I've used most models for an extensive period of time myself. Some I liked better than others. For example, I didn't like the Galaxy at all which seems to be a popular choice for many people. I did like the green CQC signatures and also the "regular" CQC model, which is black and concaved. The Vortex is pretty good too, they're the orange ones.

At the end of the day though, my biggest takeaway with KontrolFreeks is this: there isn't a single model that's going to make you elite over night. If you want to use one you should pick one that's comfortable for your thumb and hand, don't overthink it and stick with it. Many people make the mistake of swapping them for different ones whenever they have some poor PCI placement. That's gonna happen regardless. It takes time to get used to them and repetition/muscle memory is the key to success just like how it is with pretty much everything else in this game.

At some point, I removed mine completely and it felt great. So I stopped using them and it actually improved my game, so it's also not always a guaranteed improvement. Experiment and find out what works best for you. Good luck!

As someone who has used many different thumb risers I agree. They all can be beneficial to me except for the dark blue Omnis, I think it is. They are the only ones that actually seem to fall off sometimes. I have used the purple ones, the red ones the convex blue ones, none of them ever fell off. the concave blue omnis I believe it is are kinda slippery and fall off. That one on far right, no bueno, the others pictured ok.

I have omnis, infernos and cqcs. I use the midrise cqcs for hitting and the lowrise inferno for pitching.

If my pci placement is real bad ill swap them around. Omnis have had the least use for me.

I use the Inferno and have been pretty happy with it. Definitely takes some getting used to, so don't expect immediate improvement. I also only use it on the left stick, I felt like it made my pitching worse using it on the right.

I agree. I hated the precision rings. Way too stiff.

There are 2 colors, purple and black.. black is super stiff purple is more spongy. Both limit pci mvmnt. I trim the rings to make them slightly smaller and beveled on the bottom so theres more range of motion.

Without trimming you wont get to pitches on the edges most notably the high fb's which are pretty much guaranteed homers if you catch em.

Back in college I made one out of pine tar. Took a piece , molded it, wrapped the top and sides with wrist tape and stuck that puppy on top of the stick. It never came off while playing CoD n when I did take it off I just used alcohol rub off any residue. I miss the pine tar smell

How do you trim it if you dont mind me asking? I liked the rings for more precision but I felt too limited getting to the edges of the zone.
