Is vision an important stat to consider? I always look for guys with better vision because i think it helps put the bat to the ball better. Are there thresholds to meet?

I think the vision gives you a different perspective when looking at the pitcher or something like that. If you notice, each hitter has a different view and sees pitches coming from different angles. Some hitters shrink while others look larger than life. At least that's my take on it. I'm probably wrong, but I thought I'd take a stab at it. Looking forward to seeing others opinions.

Vision was super important in MLB 19, less so in MLB 20

    Vision is your outer PCI

Contact is your inner PCI and much more important.

Now that makes sense! Thank you. I turn off my PCI, so I was thinking differently.

In some cases, a high vision can be a hindrance. In my experience, the vast majority of contact that's made outside of the inner Contact PCI but within the outer Vision PCI is going to be an easy pop up. If a card has low vision, you're more likely to just swing through those and take the strike rather than the out.

People say vision matters less this year but they didn't change the way vision vs. contact works, they just finally explained it better this year.

The further out towards the edge of the vision ring you go, the lower the % chance of quality contact results. The inner (contact) ring is where you are most likely to make good contact (higher exit velo). Vision which is the outer ring, is a better reflection of the outer most limit of where your player could potentially make contact with the ball, although it comes with a higher % chance of a poor contact result and lower exit velo.

Schnauzer's comment is spot on. A high vision guy can be good if you really want to get a ball in play late in a game, but the way the game plays as a general rule high contact is the choice over high vision.

This is exactly why Joey Gallo has been a MLB The Show legend while always being blind as a ground dwelling rodent.

Vision prob doesn't matter much this year. Since a lot of players fade out the outer pci.

For those like me foolish enough to use directional, it’s essential. With no PCI, it basically governs your swing and miss rate. Don’t even bother with anyone with under 80 vision...

higher vision ⇛ bigger outer pci circle ⇛ better chance to foul ball off ⇛ better chance to foul multiple foul balls off in one AB ⇛ better chance of opponent rage quit ⇛ better chance of opponent dashboarding ⇛ better chance for you to get the W ⇛ better chance for you to make WS

Better chance to make meh contact that results in an out to.

I think vision basically meaning nothing has made it foul off central. Last year half the cards in this game wouldn’t be usable in the game due to vision.
