Best 3B outside chipper

I havent been totally happy with anyone yet. Ive made defense a big priority at 3B because it seems at least one or two balls a game get hit there that can be the difference between giving up runs or not. So ive used Matt Chapman, who is a wall and has some power but his PCI is itty bitty, GG Evan Longoria, but again, his vision is low.
Nolan Gorman and Nolan Jones can both hit but are just ok defensively.
I cant hit with FOTF George Brett but some say he is very good.
Pablo Sandoval was pretty good but i felt like his defense was weak because he missed stuff down the line a lot.
Live Series Nolan Arenado is pretty good when he is playing up against righties, but that hit or miss.I didnt like Sheffield there. He was a statue.
Im looking forward to getting Mike Schmidt. Hes my next contestant. If you dont care about defense there are lots of options, tho.
Sometimes i just say F it and play "The Todd Father" (Todd Frazier) He seems to always play above his ratings for me......i just feel like its not a card i should be relying on.
Anyway -- thats my 2 cents.

99 Jackie then find yourself a two bagger
-
Honestly I think Big Ed Matthews is better than Chipper. For me he is anyway. Then, believe it or not, I roll with Derby Todd Frazier. Dude has been great!!!
-
For me I find defense to be random at 3b especially (Gary Sheffield can make a diving catch then Evan Longoria can get the animation where the ball rolls under the glove). So I just run Sheffield for the bat
-
If not chipper it's Sheffield, embrace the nukes.
-
Killebrew. I don't hit for the highest average with him, but he does big time damage when he connects.
-
Sheffield's bat is too hot for him to move from 3B for me.
-
Run your CAP at 3rd

Been rolling with prestige Rhyno and like it. Nice pop, defense, and speed. Love Sheff too as well as Killer.
It’s really hard to take killer out but I platoon him with Babe in big situations sometimes even though Babe takes vs lefties. If they bring in a new pitcher and men are on base I’ll swap him out sometimes. Killer is amazing.
To be clear... Chipper stopped hitting for me after prestige lol. Dropped to .250 BA.
Haven’t tried Brett or Schmitt as I like to get as many 100 + power hitters as I can in.

George Brett
-
Top 5 3B IMO :
- Josh Donaldson
- Prestige Gary Sheffield
- Chipper
- Jose Ramirez (I use him at 2B)
- Eddie Matthews or George Brett.
-
I got All-Star Miguel Cabrera on my squad right now, best 3B I have currently. Glove not as great, I just have him for the bat. He hasn't made any errors yet, though!
-
Mike Schmidt or Gary Sheffield if you can handle his defense.

Only place to play Sheffield
Shef isn’t a serviceable defender at 3rd (strong arm doesn’t make up for the fact that he has no range and can barely field a routine grounder right at him) he gets hidden in Left or a bench bomber.

Interesting, my perspective is different on this. I'm not sacrificing defense in the OF, I'll take the garbage reactions and my chances at third. It's worked out for me this entire game cycle.

Agreed. I think his D there is actually pretty solid too.
His numbers aren’t too far off from chipper. And has a much better arm. His reaction time and range sucks tho.

More power to you, I on the other hand have had too many situation that he couldn’t handle to not be concerned every single time the ball is hit in his general vicinity. I mean, when I first unlocked him and used him in an events game he muffed a 100 bounce dribbler that was hit right at him with buster posey’s world class 40 speed humping it down the first base line. That’s just the most egregious situation that I’ve had with him. There have been numerous others that just make me shake my head. And events don’t mean anything to me, had that happened in a RS game or tournament game I would’ve tossed my controller in the garbage.

I have also had Sheffield boot routine ground balls multiple times, but he's also hit clutch bombs for me as well, so I keep running him out there lol.

Harmon is the man as long as you can live with his slow feet. He hits bombs but also hits into a lot of double plays.

I hear you but I’d rather he boot the odd grounder that turns into a single as opposed to something in the OF that turns into a double or triple.
His Prestige card is hitting .421 with 21HRs in 145AB (most on HOF but some on AS). I can’t justify taking his bat out.
15 of those HRs are versus righties and hitting .442 against them. But yes his fielding percentage is a paltry .974
