I am hoping that this year you will actually have to earn being called up. In 19, I was a 15th round pick that was called up directly from AA to the show and made the #3 hitter in the line up. I was a 61 overall player who was only hitting .315 with 10 homers so it's not like I was tearing up the AA league. There is no way some AA player who was a 15th round player at the age of 19 or 20 is going to be spring boarded into the majors. It's just not realistic at all.

Is this the year that RTTS isn't a super fast rush to the majors? Will we actually have to earn our spot? Is the game just destined to call me up regardless of if I belong in the majors or not? A .315 hitter in AA is not a .315 hitter in the majors. If I was a top 3 pick or the top prospect in baseball, yeah I could see the rush to move up but not a 15th rounder.

I hope the devs can shed some light on this as they have always ignored the questions that people have asked. Maybe a slider on how quickly you have to move up? I would like to have some kind of realistic career and if it takes 1 full year in AA and one in AAA, I would be fine with that. I'm sure most people want to just rush and move up to the majors but I would prefer realism.

First off, what difficulty do you play on, position, and team? That dictates a lot.

1B switched to LF because it always happens. Hall of fame difficulty. It really doesn't mater though, I've been called up in the first season of every game I've started. I've started about 10 of them, get to the AA all star game and about a week after, I'm in the show. It's the same thing every time. It has been that way for a long time in these games, there is no grind in the minors to get to the bigs

Problem is there are a whole lot of RTTS players who don't want to toil in the minors for 4 or 5 seasons. If you are one who plays out every at bat and fielding opportunity then that is a major time sink.

They should make the difficulty of getting called up a slider you can change

100% agreed. A slider that determines how much on-field performance impacts progression.

No, it's all teams. Like I said, it's been an issue for years

Why would you want to spend extra time in the minor leagues? It's [censored] boring as hell

Realism? Rushing to the majors with no seasoning isn't a realistic mode. That's why I'd love to see a slider for how long it takes so people that just want to mash in the majors can do that and so can people that want to have a realistic approach to RTTS. Shouldn;t be that hard to impliment

Realism? The mode features MLB broadcasters, fake stadiums, fake players up until this year.. I get what you are saying. But man the minors is such a grind anymore. Literally nothing has changed in years. I get burnt out to quick. For the past 5 years or so, I've done at least 5 seasons in the MLB before moving on.MLB the Show 19..I never even made it out of the minors. After about the first month of the second season, I just quit. Couldn't take the dull repetitiveness anymore.

Sliders are def a must. Why they haven't been included to this point is beyond me.

Being in the majors is no different, RTTS is very stale either way. It's baseball, not much is going to change

Sadly you are right. And this is the thing I hate most about the mode. There is no real difference between the two. It feels and plays the same. There is no character building outside your rating. This mode just seems to get worse every year.

I've always been more of a franchise guy. But the fact that mode has seen zero updates as of late. I've been playing RTTS more. And I've enjoyed it for the most part. But it's just become so dull and lifeless.

Nobody is saying 4 to 5 years in the minors but getting called up from AA to MLB in like 2 months is not realistic either. It used to be you would play one year in AA and one year in AAA then go to majoors but like everything else in this game promotions are a mess now.

If you're getting called up that quick, I suggest rising the difficulty level. My guy is batting like .340 and leads the team in RBI's and I'm in my 2nd month of triple AAA. With one full season under my belt in AA.

Maybe one time in recent years I got called up from AA straight to MLB about half way through the season.

I was just speaking of an example not what has happened to me. I have noticed that call up is quicker in 19. As was mentioned I have been called up from straight to MLB about half way through the first season. That is too quick.

Now that there are real MiLB players, I wouldn't mind spending 2 seasons in the minors. It's a lot cooler to be on a MiLB team with Nick Madrigal and Michael Kopech and Micker Adolfo and Andrew Vaughn than it is with Steve Fakename and Jack Alias or whatever. And it'll be even cooler if you get up to the big leagues and those same guys are waiting for you.

The only change I would really like is for your first couple years in the minors to be years XXXX rather than 2020 and 2021. This year, by the time I got called up to the big leagues, the game had already generated trades of Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu. So it took me almost 2 seasons, and then I get up there and the roster doesn't look like the White Sox roster I know. It'd be much cooler if your first year in the big leagues is 2020 and it comes with the 2020 roster, regardless of how many seasons you have to grind through in order to get there.

It’s not called MLB the minor leagues. Most players don’t want to slog it out indefinitely. There’s a lot of problems with this mode (and game) but I don’t think getting to the show too soon is one of them.

For the record my rtts pitcher this year is a 70 OVR at AA.

I don't think it's unrealistic at all, especially if you look at the history of the game.

You may want to linger in the minor leagues, but I'm pretty sure most of the actual players don't, and neither do I.
