"Red Sox got Jeter". sounds like Derek Jeter. Especially because we usually use last names when referring to players, a more apt title would have said Red Sox got Downs. It'd be like the Red Sox actually getting Derek Jeter and you posting "Red Sox get Derek".

Plus most people outside guys like us who play fantasy baseball aren't going to know who Jeter Downs is.
