Kontrol Freaks

I've finally decided to get me some of these things due to my frustration with PCI placement. I've been a terrible hitter for a looong time in this game and recently got a monitor which has certainly helped some. My timing has gotten a lot better but I still struggle with PCI placement. My problem is it seems like I'm always going to far in one direction. I have a hard time just slightly moving my PCI to the ball and am always yanking it way to far. For those of you that use Kontrol Freaks which model of them have you guys had success with in this game? Thanks!

If you type Kontrol Freaks in the search bar you can see all the many post about them. Not trying to be rude or anything, just literally giving you info that might help. There are many threads with different responses that might help you out.

My opinion they are good for grip, as I always hated Play stations control stick feel.

Purple galaxy....helps a little but I'm still dog feces online. I just started using them this year so really it just takes some getting used too and making adjustments. I'm always under the ball no matter what. I just need a lot more reps. Just give it time and glean whatever advice people give in the forums. A lot of good players share tips and they've all helped me at some point.

I’d honestly go with 2 high rise ones. I got the galaxy ones to see if it would reduce how much my PCI twitches (kinda worked), and I’ve noticed the higher stick would be useful on both the LS and RS.

Kontrol Freeks recommend the Infernos for MLB the show but when you search sports games on their site 3 recommendations come up but none are Inferno. A bit confused.

I recently added a Kontrol Freak to my L3 and I have the same issue both before and after lol. I get a lot of singles or hard lineouts on pitches up high where I go even higher, and I get singles on singles well below the zone, but intermediate placements I struggle with. It seems like something that discipline and better pitch tracking can fix though, and the Kontrol Freak makes it easier imo to not go all the way up or down, it's just hard to practice that when you're online and you need to capitalize on pitches. I have a blue one, whatever that is.

Thanks guys. I think I'll probably go with the high rise type. Seems like that might help with yanking the PCI too far in any one direction. I'll probably still be horrible but it's worth a shot.

I’ve got a couple different kinds and I can tell you it’s more on feel each time. I rotate between a few different ones (Galaxy, cqc, and Omni) the high rise ones are nice but they are ultra sensitive, they help get to corners but the pci movement is very fast and you can over push the pci from where you want very easily. If your looking at getting one for the first time to try I would recommend the cqc, it’s a mid rise so it will give you some of the feel of a high rise with not as drastic movement.
Also the Galaxy is a great starter pack because you get a high rise and a low rise in the pack

Awesome man, thanks for the advice!

I have used the purple ones for three seasons and I absolutely love them. In fact I play all my games with them.

Just got some high rises. They are a must for hitting and also for pinpoint. If you buy stubs and don’t spend 15 on some high rise KFs…..

I really liked these hexagon-shaped ones I had. I think they were Call of Duty: Black Ops special editions or something but man, I frickin' loved those things. When they finally wore out and the grip came off the base, I even tried gluing it back on -- but of course that only extended their life by so much. I haven't seen them on Amazon or at my GameStop in a long time though.
These are the ones I have now. They're similar to the hexagon ones I had in texture and feel but obviously, they're just circular. I recommend them but I've never liked the high-rise ones, for whatever it's worth. I find that since these are concave, I can be much more precise with my PCI. I don't play FPS games (although I main Huntress on Dead By Daylight), so I use these almost strictly for The Show.

I use a high purple galaxy and a resistance band on the left stick only. Works pretty well for me.
-
Don't forget the precision rings the grips are good for grip but pci placement specifically slamming your pci will get reduced w the rings
-
The 3 types I’d recommend looking at are the Purple galaxy’s, inferno’s and the green cqc’s. But since you’ve never used a pair before.. maybe go with the purple galaxy’s because you get a short and a tall stick. Just don’t give up on using kontrol freeks! Yes, they will feel goofy for a little while BUT once you get used to them you won’t ever wanna take them off.

Resistance band???
-
I only use one for hitting, I struggled with control ironically pitching

I didn’t like the high ones tbh. They kept flying off.
I bought the low top green ones and they’re fantastic.
It won’t stop your trigger movements being too much. That’s just practice. Less is more as they say.

High rise ain’t for me.
