Baptism by fire or Batting Practice?

I am bad at hitting. No, I am horrible at hitting.
If I were to compare myself to an actual Major Leaguer, I would be Rob Deer from the 80's Brewers. Meaning I will strikeout a ton, but I would hit the occasional HR to win a game or two.

To improve my hitting is it better to take BP against the CPU or actually play the game against actual people?
I have been playing instead of BP and the results are mixed. In the event I am a little over .500.
I either run into a pitch for a blast and hold on 1-0 or I get decimated 4-0.
Will BP help me hit human pitching?

I'd say it's better to play against "real" people just to acclimate yourself to all the other additional nonsense that people do.

Then again, I'm only 15-21 in this Event so what do I know?
