Trout is arguably Top 5 player of all time so it’s quite fitting IMO
Not when you already have is LS with Quirks. This should have been a legend

and what do the clues BIG and Chase have to do with Trout?
To chase... or FISH. Mike TROUT. TROUT = FISH. some trout are BIG.
BOOM
or it was a "big" collection that was the "chase", people read too much into it
Yes I know people read too much into it. That was the tone of my post. It wasn't serious

You heard it here first kids: stop reading too much...

They weren't clues but people misinterpreted them to be clues

If he was an inning boss this inning, I’d still take Maddux.
All year SDS has had fire content, so I will get over this quickly, but at the moment I think we’d rather have some rando FS card.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if there is another collection down the road, maybe all you will need is the Trout card.

Speak for yourself when you say we want future stars

Trout fits the bill perfectly though. He's an objective 5 tool player that lacks nowhere. The only real differences between him and Honus is the fact that Honus came out of nowhere, and played at a much thinner position talent wise. Trout being an OF is really the only factor that hurts this card.

This is what a lot are missing, 95 with solid quirks and the 99 MVP are d@mn near the same. The difference in play with the cards will be microscopic

Although he is a great player this past decade, he hasn't quite earned top 5 of all time. That is stretching it a bit. And I like Trout so don't get me wrong. If he puts up the same type numbers the next 8-10 years then I'll agree with you.

That's not true though. The vision increase is higher than any quirks bonuses can do, and his vs LHP stats are greater than his best IE boost. Diamond D, more speed. The Prestige 99 is easy as well.
Does this make him the right choice personally, no. For what they Program requires it's fine. A lot of people including myself just over thought this one.
-
I got him and have used him in a couple event games. I like this card waaay better than his Live Series for some reason. Just feels like anything you hit could be gone.
-
I don't even mind it being Trout, I just wish they would've given him better stats. It is a lot of cards to collect for someone who doesn't even have 100+ in each hitting category and his vision is less than 90. At least with how much it takes to get him at least juice him up a little bit more

vision means almost nothing this year. Contact is more important and he has very good contact. Also his power is amazing. Anyone comparing his live series card to this one because of the quirks doesn't really understand the PCI unless they're like mcgunski and never misses the ball with the PCI no matter how small it is. Compare his live series to his awards card and every single category goes up considerably except for one or two defensive stats.

Unless MLB started In 2000 this is frankly ridiculous.
-
I want to know who thought having MVP Trout as the chase was an awesome idea? I guess SDS spent their yearly budget on Mantle's rights.

Stop. He’s on his way but he’s not there yet.

When you take the best current player, and stick him as a collection reward for cards across all legends and flashbacks, and the card is last year's MVP, it's the definition of "mailing it in".
This took no thought, had no mystical anticipation once released about how the card will play, and was the easiest way out in what has already been a disappointing MLB baseball season.
As an adult in my late 40's, I understand the desire for more recent players. The entire rollout of Future Stars and now this have shown that you are alienating one generation of player for the other.
You guys really blew it here, and in a big way.
Trout could have been a boss, or instead, the LS collection, with Mantle being your ultimate chase.
Everything you rolled out this year was backwards and again.... Disappointing in how it was implemented.
The only thing I'm going to say about your statement is that you can't make Trout the LS collection. It's not sensible due to the fact that basically you're buying a Trout and a whole bunch of other cards just to get a better version of Trout. I think its smart that the Live Series collection is a past player because then you can actually use the LS trout and the collection reward at the same time. I do think Mantle would've been good for the crown jewel though.

Solid analysis. Except you forgot to mention we already have a 95 overall live series Trout with quirks activated in game that costs 250k. So I need to 1-2 million stubs to have 2 Trout's? What do I do with the other one?
This is a complete failure of a choice. A joke really.
