You do know that was Tejada fault for turning the wrong way and that is what happens when you play a secondary position.

There is literally no defending that slide. He didn't even try to stay touching the bag and went right for his knee. Dirty as dirty gets

You should go look at the replay, and everyone that has ever played baseball was taught you take out the player no matter what, and Defenders know that the player is coming into them to take them out and are taught to properly avoid it. Again it is a baseball play that all players were taught. Tejada not playing that position regularly and that fact he turned the wrong way is why he got his leg broken. I will defend it all day that is how baseball was played. Not sure what generation you grew up in but that is how players were taught.

Literally just watched it, he waited way too long to slide and was aiming for Tejada not the bag. There is a way to go in for a hard slide, its not like that. That was dirty. Also SS was Tejadas natural position so what makes you think he didnt play it often?

I watched it to, what part you do not understand that you are suppose to take out the player tejada totally turned right into Utley, He spun the wrong way, Did you never play baseball, You always go for the player not the bag, Again it is what you are taught as a player and as a middle infielder you know the player is taking you out. It was unforunate the Tejada got hurt but by no means was it dirty cause it is how the game was played. The fact it was a playoff game you differently take out the player.

Let's just agree to respectfully disagree. I did play baseball for over 10 years when I was younger and I have also heard major league players and announcers discuss the slide and talk about how they also thought it was dirty. In my opinion it was dirty, in yours its not and I dont think either of us is changing the others mind

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV-iHSH4rOwFor me, I would definitely say that was dirty and worse than the Utley one. Intentionally spiking a guy like that is just a [censored] move. I'll eat a hard slide to the feet all day and brush it off as 'thats baseball' but to me that was uncalled for.

Watching that tejada play was just the way the ball was thrown to him as well, of course if he turns inside he would have avoided Utley, I know it is quick decision a player makes, Differently see why people think it was dirty, I just see it as how the game was played.
