Has anyone used HRD Griffey Jr? Looked Around and didn't see any posts on him... I know he's a rare card to have but I have Mantle so I was considering going after him.

At first I was deadset on Ortiz and Walker but with the HRD cards dropping significantly in price I picked up all 6 of set 1, which means I only need the 3 base and 1 rare from pack 2...

125 power vs RHP and LHP with 75 speed and good fielding (he would be in LF or RF) is enticing. Plus it's freaking Griffey.

He's not even close to worth the stubs you have to burn to get him. Be patient and wait for the 99 Griffey they'll drop eventually, this HRD card is only good in BR.

No offense, but I'm not asking if he's worth getting, but if anyone who had used him has a review.

At 125 power vs L and R, this card is special (plus it's Griffey)... But I don't think people understand how rare the skills are this card has -- only 2 players in the entire game right now have the following combination: 110 power vs L and R, 80+ field, react, arm and 75 speed... This card and 99 PostSeason Springer.

Personally, the endgame mentality and better card down the road mentality is a fallacy that will hurt you competitively for the life of the game until the end. Getting guys that are good in the current layout that you can use for a period of time then upgrade is the way to go. Plus the TA3 makes stubs so easy to get its so easy to replenish and get new cards.

Plus it's not like the cards you collect to get him aren't usable, Cano and Stanton are great cards and will start, others are bench bats and will be very handy in future events.

All of this I've considered and looking for reviews on Griffey before I lock him in... Can always get his Sig Series or whatever they do for him down the road too.

Non taken, the review is what you expect, hits it hard when you square it up with that power but his contact holds him back. Also the defense is not great.

If you have the stubs to use you should grab him man. I spent about 300k first day sets were available to finish him because I’ve already completed mantle and I’m just looking to have fun now. My line up has a lot of the hrd guys now. Cal, Stanton, Griffey and Cano. Put him in left and his defense isn’t an issue. As far as hitting goes if you’re underneath anything and timed well it’s out of the park on all star. Hall of fame you’ve gotta be right on it and it’s gone. Moon shots. People sit on stubs too much and miss out on having fun spending currency that only lasts a year. You could wait on a 99 griffey but that could be what? 3 more months from now. Lol

This is why I've lost interest in these DD, MUT, etc modes. They are all about getting people to buy stubs and spend more. You either grind, flip, or pay cash for the "current" stud cards knowing there will be a better version your going to have to get a month from now

He’s great on hof, 6/12 with 3 bombs all on HOF. Wasn’t expecting good defense but he’s more then good in LF.

Use him as my left fielder mostly because I never used Griffey in the previous years...he's not bad I find myself really guessing more on pitches with him than actually just reacting to where the pitch is thrown playing HOF. I would say he's been far and away better than my other LF options namely Bellinger and Minoso but I would certainly prefer slightly more contact. Side note to anyone out there who can explain this but why do most of these cards have higher contact against lefties knowing his HRD pitcher was right handed and he definitely hit more home runs than "outs" (god I miss that old format) so in theory he should also have 90-100 contact against righties just my opinion
