Before I spend more hours winning some and losing some showdowns to get the last 40-50 pts I need for the Braves... What's people's success/failure rate using this card? I'll spend my time elsewhere if the 99 overall is misleading with this one

He has 3 pitches that move the same, no sinker or cutter. It hurts seeing that he isn’t good in the game but that is how his card will be.
-
So far I enjoy him. He's got a very "standard" mix, with great command... A single fastball is a bit of an issue.. his windup isn't terribly difficult to time up it seems...
But as a 99, with great ratings, he's still very useable. I'll probably keep using him until some straight fire pushes him out.. -
Love it when my opponent has him on the mound, because I really enjoy hitting tanks.
-
He's ok, wouldn't put him on the level of Hersh, but decent enough

Just do the exchanges. Cost like $4k per exchange and through the last 40 points you get $6.5k stubs back, and a 5 pack Ballin Bundle. If you only pull 5 golds from that bundle you would end up spending like $16k stubs and getting at least $11.5k back. So worst case it costs you about $4.5k stubs to get the last 40 team affinity points by exchange

I know what you're talking about for the most part... question.... does that just require going through and finding the 1-2 cards with the highest exchange vaule/lowest market price? I do the exchanges a good amount, but I can't picture off the top of my head 4k being enough to go 50k pts

I do:
79 overall - 1
78 overall - 4
77 overall - 6
76 overall - 5That gets your through the necessary points and I have been able to knock them out around $4k stubs.

My stats on All star:
58.2 IP, 105 SO, 2 BB, 0.46 Era 0.38 Whip.
He's absolutely fantastic as long as you use him right (no I won't tell you how, that would ruin my fun)
-
Looks good on paper to me. I’ll be trying him out tonight in RS.
-
Picked him and Burnett up tonight. His windup seems good. I will take him online tomorrow night and see what happens.
-
He's absolute TRASH on All-star. I have better success with Catfish Hunter. That should help you decide for yourself.
I've never seen more HR hit off a pitcher in 4 years of playing online.

Everyone is trash on All-Star.
I didn’t have much of a debut with Smoltzy. Opponent quit in the first after Mantle drobe in Biggio. Solid top of the 1st though!

There's All Star trash and then there's warm cat [censored] that you are forced to eat with splintered chop sticks and no napkins. That's Smoltz.
-
He’s not that bad. His control is really good and it’s fun to throw fastballs to any former for strike 3. I think his prestige version will be significantly better.
-
I’ve had great success with Smoltz and also Palmer so far. I was stuck with only having Kluber, Newhouser & Oswalt as my only dependable starters but now I’ve got 5 solid starters I’m happy with. If it doesn’t work out just sell him. Everyone has different success or failures with each card. Otherwise everyone would have the same lineups. You have to try for yourself
-
He's my best pitcher,by far.
