Since it’s not on the calendar?
Can we assume no POTM this week?

Next week, this week is the conquest map.
I think that they're going to wait for actual 2020 results to award POTM.
Yeah, it'll only be based on a week. Don't care.

Who knows if the season starts on the proposed date, if even at all?
If they start, SDS will want to base POTM on actual games played and release 1st week of August.
If they don't, then we'll get the recycled POTMs again the 1st week in August anyway.

I’d honestly be fine with this. I don’t think anyone is gonna cry over not getting a Paxton or Gurriel card.

Lol, I dont think they are gonna do that. They arent gonna give a Monthly award card based on a handful of games. If those games even get played. A Month is already such a small sample size in baseball.

Small sample size > No sample size
I'm just trying to understand the rationalization behind (theoretically) giving someone who goes 5-11 with 2 HRs a 96 rated diamond, purely because we wouldve finally gotten baseball back. I'm going to disagree with your assertion above.

July will receive the classic POTM
The biggest clue to this is the POTM collection as it's set for collect 4 cards so to be that indicates they have 4 POTM cards planned then after that they say more will be added as they dont know if it will be classic cards or in season rewards.
I think we see Topps now cards for the 1st week for sure.
In all honesty with the way cases numbers are trending the Blue Jays dont have a location yet to play home games, more players and staff testing positive I dont see and outcome here where the season gets completed. I'll give them 15-20 games then the season gets cancelled due to the number of players that get inflected

The same rationalization that led to Topps Now cards last year based on single-game performances.

Just like they'll never have prospect/future star cards im the mid to upper 90s?

I didnt play last year, so am unaware of those cards, but that also sounds like a terrible idea.

They were usually just collection fillers. Silvers, golds. I think there was some low diamonds towards the end of the year.

That doesnt sound nearly as bad then. Silver and gold is much more acceptable. It's not issuing 95+ rated PotM cards based on a couple games.

That didnt sound too crazy. I dont think that really surprised anyone. If they said that I didnt hear it.

They give "prospects" with 0 ABs in their life a 99 card so SDS can pretty much do anything at this point.
If one player has a great week that is probably a LOCK for a 99 card.

The blue jays were cleared to play at home a week ago.

No that haven't
The federal government has not given that approval yet

Local and provincial authorities might have said that they support them playing in Toronto but ultimately the Federal government has final say in this matter and based on the case number in the US they will not approve it and the Jays will likely play in Buffalo.
