I would get Mattingly as an offering to the zebra. They both have black and white stripes.

Mattingly could be sneaky good... he has the bomber quirk. Especially since the only problem with him would be his power
edit* also i say this not having used him at all
I don’t believe quirks apply to players outside of live series.

As a Mattingly swing fan,. I like the card, but feel that he needs to get prestige before I get too excited.
I've got about 45 AB (split between event and RS) and I smash with him in ranked but he blows in the event. He's playing a solid LF for both.

Bomber quirk doesn’t do anything. Its just there for any player that has 75+ bower vs both sides

I think that only applies to some quirks like the "excels at hitting fastballs" or "excels at hitting breaking balls".
I could be wrong

I'd really like a definitive answer to this I've been wondering this myself for quite some time.

Only LS cards have active quirks (Quirks that affect the PCI or otherwise give situational boosts). Passive quirks are tied to stat thresholds and apply to all cards. Here’s a list, although it’s from ‘17, it’s still very relevant today.

McGriff actually looks solid. Great bat with silver fielding at 1st! Pretty cheap as well. Mattigly looks garbage, I never should have done the Yankees TA, once I get him he will be sold immediately
-
OFFLINE, McGriff rakes for me. I have not tried him online as I dont make an effort to play online. Hes worth trying out. Hes under valued if offline play translates to online.

Google "MLB The Show Quirks" someone made a list three years ago about what the active ones do and outside of the new Outlier quirk we believe everything else to be unchanged since.
