TA3 SP

SDS

Who does everyone think will be the best pitchers to use? I have the Braves ready to go so plan on getting Smoltz soon. Thinking Hershiser could be pretty good since his 84 was pretty useful early on.

Side note: We should finally see some variety in pitchers used in ranked seasons games, which I’m looking forward to.

SDS

Everyone knows AJ Burnett from my Miami Marlins is the best TA3 card.

I feel that card could be sneaky good

I've always struggled vs good Burnett cards. Definitely a sneaky pick-up.

AJ was my one of my favorite players in baseball a few years ago so I'll have to try him out. The low control might be tough but he's worth a try

SDS

Burnett is always good so i will low-key grind for him since I have Sheffield in my lineup and Sixto in my rotation (seems better than most of the TA3 pitchers and has a sub-2.00 ERA for me).

But first thing I did was grab Kerry Wood -- that 122 K/9 and hitting 101 on the gun looks hard to pass up, control issues aside -- then Smoltz

SDS

As a Cubs fan, I'm definitely going Wood to oust Felix from my rotation. Who would be better between Smoltz and Orel to replace Hal whom I struggle with.

SDS

Orel looks sick, all that movement and great ball pitch speed differential with command.

Still at TA1 for LA, but will likely be 1st pitcher i go after.

It pains me to say as a Mariners fan but I haven’t been very good with Felix. Think he’s losing his spot for me as well.

Same -- I loved Felix in his prime and I really want to hold out for him to get prestiged, but he has an ERA over 4 and has cost me more than a few games ...

Dunno if people who have him prestiged see enough of an improvement to keep giving up 3-4 runs in 5 innings?

He's got an era north of 5 for me, he's been relegated to mop up duty for me right now.

SDS

Hershiser & Wood.

SDS

Hershiser, Smoltz, Marichhal, Wood and Burnett

Are you on the harder levels? I just struck out a guy 22 times with Felix.

SDS

Hershiser and Leiter look like the best to me.

Yeah, just about all of his innings have been between 700-900 on RS

I struggled with him my first game but it was against a good player on all star. But I could tell he's gonna be good especially on HOF. Cutter is very good. Just make sure if you throw its well below.

SDS

Hershiser, Leiter, and Wood are definitely filling out my rotation. Wood was disgusting last year, and they buffed him this year. Hershiser is always incredible every year, and Leiter’s repertoire and per/9s really intrigue me.

He beat me earlier today in part bc he went 2 for 3 with a HR. I wasn't just throwing fast balls either. Dude was just good with the sticks I guess

SDS

Faced Wood in Showdown, went in 15-15. It took me 10 out. And that is Showdown, i don't know how i will hit him in RS.

SDS

I just used Smoltz in RS.. worth it. Best control I've felt pitching this year. His slider and curve are easy to locate, and has a filthy splitter. Only 1 fastball, but it hits 99-100 and can get by.
Just one start, but I like so far

yeah struggled vs him in showdown too

SDS

Had one start with Hershiser yesterday in RS on AS. Guy was 40 games over .500 and limited him to 5 hits and no runs in 7 innings. Low strikeout numbers of course cause he’s not an overpowering pitcher but kept my opponent off balance with the movement and speed differentials in his arsenal. Like what I saw

SDS

Facing Orel in showdown does not make me look forward to seeing him in RS. His movement is insanely hard to track.

SDS

So I actually used Palmer and Smoltz in the same RS game and faced Orel in that game. Smoltz and Palmer looked like they were pretty good the only runs given up were HR but hard to string together hits against them and Orel I managed to put up 5 runs on 10 hits through 7 innings (game ended me losing a freeze off which was suspicious since the entire game he check swung every pitch no swing) but as a pretty bad hitter Orel wasn't impressive and almost disappointing
