Leave ‘Em Wanting Less

TLDR: I’m salty after a loss, so I do some complaining. I mention a donut at some point. But hey, that’s baseball.

I simply do not enjoy playing Ranked Seasons. It’s funny, I feel like I can place the ball better with my bronze pitchers in these events than I can with my 90+ pitchers in ranked. I swear the majority of the hits I give up in ranked are when the ball goes In the opposite direction to which I aimed. And I bet my most of my hits come from that phenomenon as well.

I also feel like the pitch speeds and timing windows fluctuate from batter to batter. This may be my perception, but I’ve played this game enough to know when I’m late or early on a swing, at least one would think. But sometimes I have to clue whether the game will say I’m early or late.

What else? Oh, I do not trust the contact results at all. This new feedback system is just a way to mask poor and peculiar outcomes when you have good timing and good pci placement.

And another thing: How often do you all see that you have the exact same number of hits and runs going into the latter innings as your opponent? I feel like this occurs way too much to just be random. It’s like the game is a parent with a donut, and it’s trying to make sure its kids get an equal share of the donut so nobody throws a fit. Well, good luck with that. I want the whole #%%^ donut.

I think I’m done complaining for now. Hey, I know what would make me feel better. I think I’ll jump into another Ranked Seasons game.

I was sure your answer to "Hey, I know what would make me feel better" was going to be "a donut."

A chocolate covered, creme filled donut from Krispy Creme would really hit the spot.

Update: just lost my second game in a row in basically the same manner. Relatively centered balls with good placement didn’t go anywhere the whole game. Got to the 9th tied (last game it was the tenth) then my pitcher couldn’t throw strikes and I gave up a bloop hit and yada yada yada. I’ll keep you posted as you all sit with bated breath waiting for updates.

Relatively centered? Relativity is relative.

Dunkin' French Cruller or a Boston Cream please. If you're in jersey down by Tom's river, check out Uncle Dood's Donuts.

If your created player isn't named Uncle Dood you're missing an opportunity.

Very true. They weren’t in the inner bull; a lot were just kissing the outer bull though.

Update 2: Lost my next one in the bottom of the ninth. I had a runner on 2nd and 3rd with one out and down by one. I hit a fly ball that Joey Gallo caught literally in the warning track in right field. And I don’t mean literally figuratively. I literally mean literally. He proceeds to throw out Chipper Jones at home to end the game. I watched the replay and despite pressing the tag up button a little before the catch, Chipper waited. And he waited. And Chipper waited some more. Then he ran. Hell of a throw though. Let’s get into another.

I have a lot of fun in the event, even if I occasionally get bombed. Maybe it’s because it’s cumulative, you can’t go backward and it’s a free entry. This year I’ve played more events than BR or ranked. Haven’t enjoyed ranked much this year (and I have a winning record). I’ve always liked the 3-inning aspect of BR. By the time I get to play some days, it’s late and the last thing I want is a long sweat.

I have fun and relax. If I lose, I lose. Just start again.
