SDS -- Turn Off The Rain Option
-
80% of games I played today in BR, RS, and Event have been on the road and in the rain. It is pathetic that people do this to intentionally cause lag because they know that's the only way they might win. I can't believe that SDS knows this and yet still allows it during online play. It totally ruins the spirit of the game. The number of players doing this also reveals that most of people that play this game online look for every cheat and exploit possible. I'm glad that I win more than I lose and NEVER resort to these tactics. I win with dignity -- a concept totally lost on most people who play online. Try it -- it feels better winning knowing you didn't try cheating the game.

Rain increases lag if you're the away team? Thanks for the tip, turning rain on for now on! You the man.

First I’m hearing rain causes lag.

Good point OP...I have wondered why my opponent would choose to select rain for online h2h.
However, while it probably does not cause "input lag", it could cause horrible motion blur, especially for those who play on a TV and with the highest graphic setting. The rain may then appear more like a massive, moving pixel blur, which could be a bit of an equalizer. -
It would be better if online games featured "live" weather the way the did it when the PGA Tour games were around.
-
Wow, I had no idea why I was seeing this. That said submitting a big report probably would have been better as now you’re going to see even more away games with rain...

Could you elaborate on what kind of "lag" you experience when playing a game in the rain? Frame rate drops? input? Any specific stadium?

Not really a big deal. Played PGA all year and you just had the wind for the most part. There is a way to do it.
