Can @Victor_SDS give a bit of a better explanation for this negative exit velo? Thanks friendAlso, what’s up with this?
https://imgur.com/gallery/kYPM3LnNegative exit velo is a confusing conept - pitch velo is a minor input in resulting exit velo both in real baseball and in-game based on science. We've seen questionable exit velo examples but pitch speed just isn't important enough to be referenced.
In this example, the user input was a bit off, especially PCI, and the batter wasn't all that powerful to begin. All in all, slightly above average input resulted in slightly above average exit velocity at a higher than average launch angle so not at all alarmed that it resulted in a flyout to a deeper part of the field. If the PCI input was better, the exit velo would've been better, but it still may have been a fly out with that launch angle and batter swinging the bat.

I don’t have anything solid to offer in terms of feedback regarding the patch yet, it’s still too early for me to form an opinion. I did want to say that this is the first time I’ve seen anyone from SDS offer up a direct response to a post of this nature, much less a detailed explanation to go along with it and I’m delighted.
I don’t expect you and other staff members to mop up the forum by responding to every single complaint from serial whiners with nothing better to do than complain incessantly, but this is definitely nice to see. Thanks for the reply. -
Fielding still not great. Just had a ball hit to left field, I went ro throw the ball and my fielder did nothing. A single turned into a double before my fielder FINALY threw the ball.

@Victor_SDS did you receive other reports on the delayed catcher meter during a steal? In some online games the meter wont pop up at all i hv no idea what to do! I mean is enough loosing games to people bunting every at bat with my defenders not reacting lol now i cant even throw them out while stealing

I've seen the reports yes. How often does it happen to you? Is it only in online modes? Would you happen to have a clip?

Thanks for the reply @Victor_SDS ! I hv been playing mostly online (ranked and events) and its happening pretty much every game...during a steal let's say 8 out 10 times the meter wont pop up at all! And also if there is a runner on first base i cant even try to throw to first after the pitch...i tried to add clips on my report on the site but the size is too big! Hopefully you guys can fix this

Hitting is still complete garbage I shouldn’t be going 8 innings in a conquest game when I’m squaring everything up. Shm

Thanks for the update not here to complain! Thank you for the Free Battle Royale I finally had the chance to build my team the way I wanted and for that I do appreciate you! Now have anyone noticed that running is kinda odd and sometimes the other guy will pause when you are pitching and two baseballs appears on the left of the pitcher like they getting together?️️️️ so weird but for now I will enjoy beating all Quest mode! LA BATS!!!! "I never blame myself when I'm not hitting. I just blame the bat and if it keeps up, I change bats. After all, if I know it isn't my fault that I'm not hitting, how can I get mad at myself?"

@Victor_SDS i hv seen some people on the forum saying to reinstall the game to fix this...you think this gonna solve it? today i played a lot of games in RS neither me or my opponents could throw anybody out while stealing.
Btw i tried against the cpu and everything works fine so its happening only online! -
Hey nice new pretty swing analysis, but once again outfielders are getting stuck on the wall and not picking up the ball.

Not so much a post about the patch, but the game in general. I did intend to make a post more focused on 1.13, but at this point, I’m about done with posting on here, be that constructive or just yelling into the wind.
This is the worst version of MLB the Show you have ever made and I include ‘18 in that statement. I will not be back next year under any circumstances, no matter which of my favourite legends from the 90s you add to diamond dynasty. The ridiculously overpowered offense has killed any joy there once was in playing this game online. I have neither the time, inclination or ability to win a slugfest where my opponent scores 10-20 runs per game every game. As a direct result of the deliberate strategy to move to this horrible arcade home run derby style of gameplay, you’ll never see another cent of my money again as of today. Not only have I lost faith in your product, I’ve lost faith in your ability to deliver a quality baseball experience, which had just returned after a positive overall experience with ‘19, despite the RNG overtones that started to become prevalent from ‘18 onwards, the combination of incredible content and relatively enjoyable gameplay (we were coming off ‘18, granted, but I didn’t have anything like the same amount of hate and frustration last year) had won me back over, although I did quit playing earlier in the year than usual, my impressions going into ‘20 were on the positive side of neutral, at least. This year has been beyond bad. How do you expect anyone to take your game seriously in its current state? How can you sell us the game on the back of adding three of the greatest pitchers of the 90s and make pitching totally and utterly irrelevant? What makes you think anyone enjoys these stupid football scores? Leaving aside the bugs, like outfielders refusing to catch fly balls, catcher meters not appearing, home run OSD sticking around, because we’ve actually come to expect these kind of F ups from SDS (personal take there) and know they’ll eventually get patched out, the straw that has finally broken the camels back for me is the ultra offensive gameplay. I’m sick and tired of all the runs and home runs in particular. You’ve totally destroyed your own game by creating some god awful home run derby simulator where the most elite pitchers in game (Talking DD cards here) are forced to boast an ERA north of 5.00, 6.00 or even 7.00.
You’ve also created a god awful home run derby simulator where the most elite players in the game (talking about the people holding the controller here) are forced to boast an ERA north of 5.00, 6.00, or even 7.00. Chicks might dig the long ball, but in my humble opinion as a dedicated DD player, MLB the Show fan and former micro transaction cash cow sucker who would happily throw a grand into stubs every year, the long ball is digging your games grave. In previous years of the franchise, I could avoid these terrible modes by mostly playing RS and avoiding things like BR and moonshot events. The fact you’ve brought this garbage into RS this year, which should be the cleanest, purest mode that most accurately compares to real baseball is unforgivable to me and you’ve lost me completely at this point. I’m genuinely sorry about it, because as you can see from my player profile over the last 2-3 years, I was a pretty dedicated DD player throughout the year, buying stubs and playing heavily throughout the year. This isn’t what I signed up for though. You’ve been extremely disrespectful to pitching and defense this year by building the game around hitting, hitting and more hitting. It’s just not baseball and I, personally, absolutely hate every minute of it, even when I win. -
I’m getting tired of the exit velos on good good or higher being lower then the pitch speed. If I square a 95 mph fast up and the exit velo is 95, not physically possible. Outfielders are getting stuck to the wall again which is so much fun trying to get unstuck and field the ball. Week one the game was amazing but now it’s a complete and utter mess

Can I make a couple of QOL suggestions? First of all we have one overlay or “theme”. There are some attractive overlays in moments, particularly some of the retro style ones. Can they not be updated to be compatible with the new feedback style and implemented for general selection to keep the game feeling fresh, at least visually? Also, while it may already be in the pipeline (I’d be surprised if it hadn’t occurred to someone) a showdown where vouchers could be earned to exchange for points to progress on previous innings. This will help latecomers catch up and give anyone who hasn’t obtained all rewards something to grind. Obviously, it would be prudent to release this around the 9th-10th inning when the game is winding down to prevent people farming, but it does allow the completionists to obtain 100% in all programs.

I really like previous inning showdown idea. I really hope they do it. Even if its only 20 stars per showdown Ill grind that for some of the packs i missed for sure.

Gameplay is definitely moving in the right direction but overall is still disappointing. Defensive awareness and urgency is still a major problem. Balls sitting right next to my fielder always always result in 2-3 laps around the ball before my fielder engages to pick the ball up instead of simply automatically bending over and picking it up. It happens with infielders and outfielders and its infuriating when the ball is simply just sitting there. Also casual throws still happen far too often when fast players are running the bases resulting in infield singles on routine plays and extra bases on balls hit in gap or up against wall.
Also relievers need to start with full stamina in rs, it sucks only having 15 or so pitches before they are gassed. The adjustment to stamina regeneration helps the starter out of bullpen abuse but not having relievers at full power really depleats your bullpen quickly and forces u to use a starter every few games or so to give your pen a break so it makes someone like me who tries not use starters out of the pen and forces me to do it to compete. If my bullpen guys could at least give me 20-25 pitches each i could rotate them enough to keep them fresh and never use my starters outside of extra innings. -
