And it usually leads to a missed catch and error. I hate it.
Then back off a bit and play it on a hop or dive. It's basically to help people know that bad things can happen if played aggressively. If the game is late and there is a chance at blowing a lead I will play it conservative so it doesnt get by my fielder but if it's a catch I need to have, I will go aggressive after it, possibly dive
I have had it hit Reggie Jackson glove running in on it, no need to dive or any thing special hits him in the stomach, instead of catching it. I have made some good diving catches with it when I needed to dive but to be running in on a fly ball that should be an easy catch I question that one. It has cost me at least 3 games.

Definitely doesn't work as intended. My Diamond fielders allow a popup to drop right in front of then for no apparent reason except yo give my opponent a hitt
This. Mantle is scared of it. A number of times he's fast enough to get under it, but if I don't dive (no need to because he'd get there), he just stops short of it and the ball drops right in front of him. Good idea not quite implemented the best way.
Yes it happens more to mantle than any other outfielder in my lineup
Reggie Jackson for me ball just hits him in the stomach on a line drive he should catch. The ball does not sink where I would need to dive.
