H2H Only prestige was a bad idea

Of course, anyone who was around for the Pepe grind in 17 could have predicted this, but making prestige h2h only has turned lower ranked divisions into a grinding ground (and yes, I’ll soon be joining the legions of grinders). It was bad enough in the switch it up event seeing team names (no joke) “give Mantle and Chipper homers and I quit”, but now lower ranked divisions are entirely populated by god squads being prestiged. This is all well and good when they match each other, but it’s not good for actual gameplay nor does it really make the grind all that different from what would be done offline.
I would encourage SDS to add an offline option to prestige before the game goes on its big sale and a bunch of potential new players quit after getting steamrolled in the lowest ranked division by grinders.

It may look kinda cool. But getting a card to prestige doesn't dramatically change the card.

I've almost got Mantle prestiged, and don't beg for stats, but will oblige if someone wants to swap homerun for homerun for prestige grind. having said that, out of the 50 homeruns I have with Mantle, I've maybe had 7-8 of them given to me. Not to mention about the same amount have been not credited to my account due to rage quit dashboarders.

That's just the color of a shield. The difference is 3 pts regardless of whether it crosses a manufactured threshold or not.

That's just the color of a shield. The difference is 3 pts regardless of whether it crosses a manufactured threshold or not.
Higher tier shields get better animations though, even if it’s only a 1 point difference.

I remember them mentioning this sort of thing in the pre-launch streams but as far as what they said about defense.......:). -
This is very accurate. A 79 vs 81 defense have a different set of animations available.

Yeah honestly it's mostly unneeded. +3 is cool and all but meh. I decided not to lock in my Chipper only because its +3. Pitchers imo have by far the largest advantage to Prestige. Hitters not so much.

I loved seeing those guys in events. They’ll quit either way. I’d get Mantle or whoever out and they’d still quit. Sorry... not handing out freebees.

What’s worse naming the team that or the message before the game saying “please man I’m 1 win away from x player”?
Can’t stand either.

Mine would say "Mantle, Chipper XBH I quit" and over the span of 25 games or so, only 2 people decided against that. I held fast to my word too. One guy I could tell unintentionally gave them up, and for the two who didn't agree to it, I just played it out. No harm no foul. People got their Ws and I got progress on Prestige

I don’t really care about the events stuff, but in RS (the only place to do them all) it is really dumb to encourage people to stay in regular season/AS just to get easier stats.
Simply adding a say 400 PA requirement to the grinds for an offline option would have solved the speed issue.
