It's a good question, Ducks on the pond is a term on the offensive side of things so that would make alot of sense to have a hitters pack and a pitchers pack. Never considered this before but I really like it

The SS packs last year were a mix but the ducks name led me to believe we will see all offense. If that is the case I expect a stand the ducks pack after lol. We really need more pitching depth , starters and relief, waaaaay more than more offensive cards imo

Ok so how did the SS packs work last year? Do you get a pool of cards to choose from like choice packs? I'm just really confused at how these pack will be. Are you guaranteed something halfway decent since they'll be 35k?

The SS packs last year had three tiers. Base was 1:1 odds, middle was 1:4 odds, and rare was 1:10 odds.
If you got the base tier, you chose from a pool of base players. Middle tier, middle players. Rare tier, rare players.
These new packs only have two tiers, base and rare. So you have 1:4 odds of getting the rare tier when you buy the pack. If you get the rare tier, you choose from those players. If you get the base tier, you choose from base players.
So far it looks like the base players will still be really good, but you’ll definitely lose stubs if you don’t get the rare tier.

SS packs had 3 teirs Base, Mid, Rare. When the packs launched they had 4 cards in each teir. Base as 1:1 odd Mid was 1:4 and Rare was 1:10 if I recall correctly. Rare was all 99s Mid was 97-98 and base was 95-98

Guess O should have broke it down what happen when the cards hit the market
SS pack at launch was 35k might have been 40k
Base teir cards 17k - 15k on the market
Mid Tier cards 65k - 55k on the market
Rare tier cards 100k+ on the market
So yes 35k will guarantee a diamond however you may ne able to get the base tier cards for a much better price my guess is 20k-17k maybe even less. I never bought the SS packs last year I just bought all the base teir guys and the mid tier after the pack started being given away as rewards

All base teir SS ended up at QS prices by the time honus came out

I think all 3 are part of the base round it was noted on today reveal that its 5 cards in the case 3 in the rare round
Rare round will be 3 99 overall cards in my opinion

I think so too. I mean, we had 98 Keith Hernandez in the base round of SS packs, and this pack is only two tiers.
99s only in the rare tier, 98-94 in the base tier.

I've mentioned this before, but my father was at this game and was in the process of changing seats when this happened. So, even though he was there, he didnt actually see the infamous moment. Only saw the aftermath, and the replay.
He also says the birds were dive bombing from the wires from the netting all game.

In my opinion OP, if there is a card in the base tier you really like, you can roll the dice and buy a pack. Worst case you choose the card you like and roll with it. But if you want a rare tier card, you're better off saving the money to help buy that card.
