Game Update 1.12 Thread

Is anyone really surprised that this is where we are at with this game? SDS has shown that it can accomplish little when they have tons of feedback from the online community. If they think the community is bad now... Just wait until the put out the same canned game they have been for the last 4 years ( excluding some minor feature and a couple new legends) to other consoles. The only way this gets fixed is if another studio comes along and drives some sort of competition which spurs innovation. Otherwise all these issues aren't going anywhere. Especially the RNG! Gotta keep all those new players engaged somehow and it sure isn't going to be because they bought a great game.

I personally think that this game is working perfectly according to SDS interests. Our idea of a quality game is not their idea of a quality game. They see quality according to the money they make.
-
You guys really went all out with this patch, good/sq dribblers and perfect outs while bombs hit on balls out of pci. A Consistent hitting engine would be so clutch for this game. But idk if it’s even possible, only you do. PS fielding still needs work but is MUCH better, and where is roger Clemons
-
SDS still needs to fix the PCI, like take it out entirely, its a glitch, its a weird target in the middle of the screen, it gets in the way of hitting.

Doesn’t matter... I’ve already gave up on this years game
So then what was the purpose to lcomment? you don't think they really care about losing you do they? Did it feel good to get that out ?
Yeah they actually messaged me and said they were sorry for being a shitty company and gave me a gift card to Red Lobster

user input - hitting and pitching - has taken a back seat since 18 came out. 18 and 19 it was hitting, and with 20 its the full RNG treatment for pitching. its clear that this game plays EXACTLY how SDS prefers at this point.

Y'all do realize gameplay updates are rarely if ever done in back to back updates. There are different teams that work on different areas of the game.
Gameplay adjustments usually take some time while they test things out. I bet we see at least one more game update based on telemetry data from the PCI and timing window adjustments.
Personally, if we could get the strike calls on the black turned up a wee bit, check swing ability decreased, reduce how far pitches miss on good input I could live with the game as is.
-
Well maybe one gp patch and left sds gets a F for this years game. Incompetent is the word im going to is to describe this years game. How do you expect to release a game across multiple platforms if you cant even release a game on one platform?
-
You guys are a joke.

Hey little buddy(offline illuminati)! The pci is only for skilled players. That's represents the barrel of the bat. You know, the area you have to put on the ball along with a properly timed swing in order to hit the ball (kinda like real baseball). I dont expect you to understand.

No, in real baseball you swing, you know the motion of a back swing then a follow through with proper timing...oh wait, sounds a lot like Analog Stride doesn't it?. PCI is target practice and then press the X to shot.

Pressing the button simulates the brain telling the muscles to swing at the proper time. Placing the pci on the ball simulates hand / eye coordination to get the barrel of the bat to the ball.
The analog stride is just for noobs that try to time the pitch while AI places the bat for them. Good try tho joshie. How long have you and tyler been together?

Wow it amazes me how PCI X button pressers justifies using that to play The Show........if that's the case I'm gonna start playing F1 Sims with a controller instead of a wheel.

Tbh.....zone hitting with analog input is probably the most realistic way . Do you turn the ball market off for fielding fly balls and line drives?

No adjustments to gameplay? The mind literally boggles. With a multitude of gameplay issues to choose from when deciding what to focus on primarily with 1.12, you went with.......... None of them. This will probably be my last MLB The Show game in all honesty. It’s the only game I’ve ever come across in over three decades of gaming where you can play for thousands of hours over five years, buy every expensive accessory available to assist your efforts and yet get worse at the game. There’s no sense of improvement or progressing your skills because the game is dictated by inconsistency to the point of feeling like a series of random occurrences.
This game is entirely focused around hitting home runs and there’s a total lack of respect for pitching and defense as it stands. There’s one player in the top 20 for this season who has an ERA below 5 and he’s sitting at 4.87. The current number one player this season in RS has an ERA of 7.01. Your game is terrible. Exactly what you think is fun about playing ninety minute games at Shippet where both teams combine for thirty or more runs, I’m unsure, but this is a terrible representation of the sport of baseball. This is some garbage arcade slugfest with zero emphasis on anything except overpowered hitting.19 is where it’s at right now, that and 17 ....

I actually went back, reinstalled and played some ‘17 this year, it felt great, but it did serve to highlight just how much hitting and pitching have changed for the worse in the interim period between then and now. I uninstalled ‘19, though I still have a plethora of cards should I wish to return at any point and make use of them.
When you go back in time and play ‘17 online (I played H2H with @raesONE and I was able to find a few games in RS against randoms, surprisingly) you are left in little doubt about the regression of core elements of gameplay such as hitting and pitching. While there are faults and they do affect gameplay (the top spin on Miggy and Griffey is really obvious, for example and some terrible animations like catchers always sliding on dropped third strikes allowing the runner to reach first also spring to mind), the basic elements of the game feel much more accurate and natural than they’ve ever felt in any version of Diamond Dynasty since. Pitches go exactly where you aimed them with good input and when hitting, exit velocities seem astonishing compared to what we’ve become used to in recent years. I’m not sure why SDS moved away from solid fundamentals in favour of strange and unrealistic outcomes, but it is what it is. -

Yes the computer with tested sliders has more baseball common sense than 50 online casuals put together.

playing competitively is the opposite of casual. I wasnt sure if they covered that at the offline community college. To your baseball common sense statement...you couldn't be farther from the truth. Several of my friends are either currently playing college baseball or played previously. One of them is currently on an mlb 40 man roster. I spent 8 years of my life coaching baseball
