Speed has EVERYTHING to do With It

Hey, are the pitch speeds for all star in the events supposed to be slower than the pitch speeds for all star in Ranked? I don’t think this is a connection issue, they’re consistently faster in ranked. Is this deliberate, and if so, how come?
-
They are for sure faster... Its just inconsistency throughout the whole game... difficulties, modes, pitchspeeds, timing windows...
It's awful... -
They're not faster you just are focused on not getting burned by good offspeed pitches and looking for hittable fastballs causing you to react slightly later than when you're on autopilot against a computer who makes a mistake pitch over the heart every 4-5 pitches.
Also , I find the CPU on All-Star rarely executes 'Max Effort' pitches. You know if you let your meter go red or push up fast on the analog stick your pitcher gives a little extra oomph. That results in harder pitches and tighter sliders/ fastballs. AKA, Chapman may sit at 98-99 on a min energy FB, but if you max him out he hits 102 etc. And most people online use max effort nearly every pitch since every game is treated like a game 7.
-
I think they’re different in ranked, man. Maybe this has something to do with connection quality but OP definitely has a point.

The difference in pitch speeds on allstar in showdown, ranked seasons, battle royale and events are all up for grabs. No consistency makes it hard to play multiple modes in one sitting.

Events is against humans as well. Playing against CPU is another world in and of itself. I don’t really compare the two.

This is definitely true that's why when people complain about the hitting or pitching on showdown or conquest as opposed to ranked seasons I can't really compare the two what the difference in speed does not make sense to me unless you just blame it on lag for online play I'm not sure.

After playing some 100 event games, then hopping into RS at 550, I can say with 100% accuracy they're either faster or the timing window is smaller. The current event does not feel the same, I would compare the two like jumping from AS to HoF.
In the event I was able to consistently time up Chapman, easily. In Ranked, I was struggling to catch up to Glavines fastball in the first game. My timing slowly came back after a few games, but I went back to the event after my 2nd win, and swung very early on just about every fastball I saw.
This has been consistent all year. There was an event on HoF earlier and I had no issue, until I jumped in RS.

The speeds in this event feels like the speeds in all star ranked last year. Ranked all star now seems like hall of fame last year. I know some people were complaining about their not being a skill gap, and I guess this is one way to establish that gap, but I wish they’d adjust the speeds in ranked back to where they were last year.

If you could actually buy a strike on the corner, there would be less need to crank pitch speeds.

This event is pissing me off. Trying to grind out these last few wins and it is not going well. 99 mph fastball from Osuna looks like a beach ball while a 93 mph fast ball from corbin looks like 123. Makes no sense. Everyone I face is painting corners like they are michelangelo and even getting all calls on the black where my pitches are going in the opposite direction more often than not. I'm in a total slump and it sucks.

How close are you to 50? I made it to 35 and I think I’m done. I wonder if there’ll be anytime in the morning before they shut this one down and retool for the next one.

I think for the 3 inning events the low stamina may play a part in the pitch speeds feeling different.
