First game after patch...

Marlins park so you can picture it:
17 hits combined
8 runs combined
7 of those runs on HRs
Cargo pulls a low and away slider into the right center upper deck (how realistic)
Ball still hangs in the air too long, Yelich ran down at least 5 gap shots he had no business getting to
But that is because they have the fielder speed slider up. I ran down a foul ball halfway down the line with 55 speed Nolan Gorman, from the SS position cause he was in the shift. Thats about a 3 second 40 speed.
This game is done, stick a fork in it. They will never get it right. -
Difficulty?

AS, however irrelevant. This isnt (or its not supposed to be) an NBA Jam style game, we arent playing on rookie. AS, HOF, Legend, this doo doo shouldnt be happening on any of those difficulties.

Incorrect. All of the runs coming off of HRs except 1 isnt what happens in the MLB. People actually drive in runs without hitting it out of the park. Players also dont pull away pitches into the upper deck.
I also forgot to include that I was "very late" on an 88mph fastball because the game cant handle me having someone else on base so it lags my swings.

You must not watch baseball. It's actually extremely accurate that in this one case, most runs came by the homer. That has never been more realistic than now in today's game.

I haven't played yet, but I'd give it a few days. There are a lot of HoF players still trying to make it out of all star. I'm usually in 450 to 600 range and most of my rs games are 1-0 strike out fests, so I'm curious how this will play once all the above average players work their way back to Divisional and up.
-
You want 2-1 snooze fests? Get with the times. The only issue you mentioned is slow outfielders getting to balls they shouldn’t. Your box score is very typical of todays MLB

Well you can score 7 runs off of 2 HR. That's no big deal. Don't give half the facts and then disagree with people's arguments. Take your ball and go home if you're gonna cry about it

I don’t think the way the box score reads is very important. Worrying about that is what creates all the problems IMO. This is a video game. How does it play?

I agree. Its people that want a sim style game in a fantasy mode that is the problem and why hitting was changed at 1.04 in the first place

I would play franchise if they could make the AI remotely human, but they cant.

That is its own problem though. I think sim style games should be reserved for franchise. Them fixing Franchise would honestly help DD way more than anyone thinks because people that want sim can have their own mode and people that want user input to matter have DD. Franchise being overlooked for the past 5 years is a lot of the reason DD plays bad IMO

User input should matter no matter what mode you play I believe. You just need to have realistic outcomes. more often than not if, as a left handed batter, you swing early on a slider low and away (truly low and away, not middle low) you are going to roll it over for a ground out, good or late timing gives you a better chance at getting on base with that particular pitch. You definitely arent going to pull it 450 feet into the upper deck.
If I smoke a 100mph shot to the gap, it should actually make it to the gap, it shouldnt float in the air for 6 seconds allowing a fielder to run under it. Compounded now by that its floating and the fielders have been given more speed to get to balls to counteract the animations not locking in. As I stated in my previous post. 55 speed Nolan Gorman shouldnt be running down foul balls halfway up the line from this shift position of SS.

every team is full of power hitters of course there's going to be homeruns. you want base hits pick up gwynn alomar....... etc.

Again, its not about the power hitters, of course they are going to hit HRs. Its about the locations they are hitting HRs from, doesnt happen in real life they way it happens in the game. My above post outlines it perfectly.

When did they do the super secret outfield speed slider update?

Give it a rest dude, you think people that play this game daily cant tell that they are now camped out under fly balls when they previously were catching them on the run? Are you and SDS employee/relative or something?

Gibsons HR off Eckersley in the 88 World Series was exactly as you described. Slider away, and he is on his front foot, rolls his wrist over on a one handed finish, and hit it out to right.

That wasnt a lefty lefty situation and a perfectly placed slider in the bottom right square (pitchers view). I was pitching with Lodolo who hasnt given up a HR in any game I have used him in so far (10 or so games). He gave up 4 in this game.
Eck's slider leaked toward the middle of the plate, not remotely similar to what happened in my game. Besdies, that Gibson HR is a the one in a million exception to the rule. In MLB Jam, this is the rule instead of the exception.
