Without knowing anything, it wouldn't surprise me at all if SDS make the game for Playstation and have a port house port it to other platforms. In fact I would expect it.

They are hiring more people to help port the game to other consoles. Bad assumptions make you look like an, I'm sure we all know the phrase already.

Although I won't be buying the game in future years, I hope they do fix it for those of you who truly love this game.
