Maybe it’s just me, but he looks like Scott rollen with a mustache. Idk. Just keep seeing giants fans ask for him, which I’m not sure why when there is the whole other guy you could ask who was better.

Rich Aruilia?

Some guys just look like others in the right light and angle. Every time I see this prospect card https://imgur.com/AOySOhT a certain MLB TS YouTuber, who hits very well, comes to mind.

MVP, 5x all star, career OPS over .850 for 17 seasons, 12x 20+ HR seasons, 4x Silver Slugger... but I suppose he doesnt hold up against the greatness of Vidal Brujan.

Jeff Kent was excellent. One of the best hitters at 2B..
But ya, I'll take Rolen over him, thanks. -
kent was a 2B for the mets and giants. rolen was a 3b for philly and st louis. what's the connection? thats like saying, well, we dont need Jim Thome if we get Roberto Clemente.
why cant we want both? this is a ridiculous thread.

Ya that makes sense. Kent was a heck of an offensive threat. Prime Rolen was a beast.
What separates them is Rolen is one of the greatest defenders ever. -

What separates them is Rolen is one of the greatest defenders ever. That's true. Kent exceeded on the offensive side while Rolen was equally good both offensively and defensively.
I still dont quite understand why we are comparing them though, as has been brought up earlier. They played different positions, for different teams, and not over the exact same timeframe, although they did overlap for the majority.

I don't get why either. Just commenting on both players made by the OP.
And no, Rolen wasn't equally good defensively. He was 10 times better defensively. There are maybe only 2 or 3 better in history defensively at his position. -

I meant that he wouldve been a diamond hitter/diamond fielder.

Kent wasn't good defensively.. quite bad actually. -52 DRS, -30.6 UZR just after 2002 when they started tracking these metrics.
Granted most of that bad defense came at the end of his career... He was probably closer to average in the first half. -
