For a guy who only had one good season, and one decent season, he sure gets a lot of love around here.

In order to have fans, do you always have to have an elite career?

No, but considering I've seen people mention him way more times than actual good pitchers like Dave Stewart, Jimmy Key, Dave McNally, or even HOFers like Carl Hubbell, you would think he was amazing or something.

Wouldn’t be a bad hitting pitcher. I’m pretty sure he had some bombs and extra base hits in his career. .

Probably because he had a 6.5 WAR year in the mid 2000s when a lot of guys who play this game were growing up. Plus he had a 120 wRC+ in 2007. He'd have better hitting attributes than SS Bumgarner did last year

I understand he was interesting, and had a strange windup. Yes, he had a very good single season, but many other recent players also had really good single seasons and I've never heard people bring them up. Esteban Loaiza, Brandon Webb (although he was great for more years), Jason Schmidt, Brad Radke, Chien-Ming Wang, Bronson Arroyo, Javier Vazquez, Jaime Moyer, Jake Peavy, John Danks, etc.

If we're going for funky leg kicks, I'd rather have Orlando Hernandez. He didn't have an amazing career, but I liked watching him pitch and he was pretty important to those late 90's Yankee teams. Could be a fun card.
